My point still stands. If it were a more complete classic console, allowing you to buy new games but still packed into a tiny plastic box weighing 200g, then it'd still be bland as hell. A product like that would have to lean on nostalgia and not look like an emulation box from AliExpress.

Sony/Sega/Nintendo have already released consoles like those. And yes, they were tiny, but I'm not interested in those. They look like cheap knock-offs. There's nothing exciting about owning such a thing.

I don't mind if a game doesn't have voice acting. On the other hand, if the game has AI voice acting I immediately click 'ignore',

So the Commerce Department doesn't have two-factor authentication? My Steam account is better protected than gov sites? It's also funny how the chatbot randomly posted data on some forum. Imagine getting a bill for $10k worth of tokens, and half of it is because the chatbot had an online argument.

I think it's pretty common problem in modern video games that allow you buy skills. The end game is often boring because you become overpowered by the time you reach it.

When I use the Default photo viewer option in ImageGlass, it replaces the names of all associated file extensions with "ImageGlass". This makes it impossible to easily tell what file extension a file has because when I hover over an image file, it shows "ImageGlass" instead of PNG or JPG.

“An astonishing theft of unprecedented proportions” and the “largest theft of labor in human history” is what a Microsoft executive privately said about GenAi as shown in newly unsealed court filings. And these court filings get worse. These execs knew all along the immense theft they committed.

I wonder how much of Anthropic's revenue is crap like "I used AI to set up an out-of-office response and it burned $10k worth of tokens." Btw, the article also states that companies still hardly see any ROI from using genAI. www.wsj.com/cfo-journal/...

I simply don't visit Twitter anymore. Generally, I believe that I'm unfazed by trolls and haters, but man, when your whole feed is filled with engagement farmers peddling hate and people replying to them, it does wear you down, no matter how unbothered you think you are.

Suzuki Bakuhatsu Patch 1.2 out now. This updates 4 text entries that were "correct" according to the game's text structure, but corrupted RAM because they were actually one line too long. They worked when testing the previous patch, so I missed the real issue. www.romhacking.net/translations...

After 3 years in OpenAI, during the period of fastest valuation growth, he already is in 0.1% of richest people on the planet. His name stopped appearing in OpenAI's papers after GPT 4.5, which means his impact there was fading. He also warns about automating pre-training which was his job.

Have you ever played Mass Effect or Dragon Age? We already have the characters say the correct pronouns in video games. Having characters say your custom name robotically isn't worth whitewashing models that have been trained without consent or compensation.

I'm urging them to play one of many recently released visual novels translated using Gemini. They are literally unplayable, as they are written in LinkedIn prose. Even IF the translation is correct, it still reads like a generic chatbot output.
020
Reef @reefraf.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
The disclaimer doesn't say anything about translators. It only mentions 'dev team' and 'editors'. I'm willing to bet that means it was reviewed only by people who know the output language.
120
Reef @reefraf.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
I know that because they were careful not to say "reviewed by translators". And it's not nitpicking. A lot of Japanese devs are all-in on using Gemini to translate their games and the text in those games sound like typical Gemini prose, which makes them unplayable, unless you're into LinkedIn posts.

Big tech paused CA’s GenAi transparency bill AB412 behind closed doors. However, over 3.8 million creative workers have come together to demand transparency! This coalition isn’t going anywhere! Its sponsors, CAA, SAG AFTRA, NAVA Voices & The Author’s Guild have next steps! Here’s what to do👇
AB-412 UPDATE
The Al Copyright Transparency Act
WE'RE NOT GOING AWAY
Artists & Creators Must Have Transparency!
The irony of a transparency bill dying in the dark is not lost on those of us in the creative community.
Big Tech is terrified of transparency. Big Tech, who has fought us every step of the way on the Al Copyright Transparency Act, has now succeeded in getting the legislature to kill AB-412 behind the closed doors of an appropriations committee.
It should be noted that AB-412 was a bill that had no fiscal appropriation whatsoever.
This will be devastating to the creative industries, their IP, and the hundreds of thousands of creative workers who bring billions of dollars to California's economy. Creative workers are struggling, and this very simple transparency bill could have helped countless people. The issue is not going away, and delaying workable solutions for such an increasing problem will only make the situation worse for everybody.
Our coalition representing more than 3.8 million individuals, brought creative workers from every corner of the creative economy together with a unified voice. Our bill passed out of the California Assembly, four committees in the State legislature, and several hundred individuals showed up at every single public hearing to say just how much a bill like AB-412 could help them. This issue is not going away. We are not going away. We are now moving to put our energy towards the next best steps.
Please take a moment to contact Assembly Member Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (916) 319-2016 and Assembly Member Ash Kalra (916) 319-2025 to thank them for their leadership in authoring and Co-Authoring this bill respectively.
Please express to them our request that they bring this bill back next session. Please tell everyone you know to contact them as well.
AB-412 simply affects too many people to simply be swept away into a corner and decided in the dark.
Sincerely, SAG•AFTRA CONCEPT ART ASSOCIATION
NAVA VOICE ACTORS AG AuthorsTRANSPARENCY SHOULDN'T BE DECIDED IN THE DARK.
Big Tech wants AB 412 stopped behind closed doors. A bill affecting hundreds of thousands of California creatives deserves a public hearing.

thanking them for their leadership in authoring this bill and requesting they bring AB 412 back next session.
