I finished Mighty No. 9 for the first time. Finally having played this game, and also seeing that 10 percent of players even beat the game, the game's reputation is definitely based primarily on the kickstarter and marketing mismanagement. It's definitely half-baked, but it was worth playing.

I’ve kinda accepted that I’m just 2D Metroid guy. This looks good, it does, but even if the world design and pacing are on point, I doubt it’ll change my feelings about not being able to see my character and having that feedback for platforming and positioning in combat. Will wait for reviews.

I think people are coping about Silksong’s pogo. Yes, it’s slower and harder to use, that’s the problem. Controls aren’t where difficulty should come from in a metroidvania with so much combat and platforming. Face it, the pogo is so bad that most people pretty much permanently switch to reaper

🧵Finished Silksong about 90%. Overall…I like hollow knight more. The feel of the combat is a downgrade from that game, which is the biggest reason. The other thing holding it back is the difficulty and lack of convenience. Bench placements are too sparse and I had way less fun on lots of challenges.

Reached act 3 of Silksong. Man this game just keeps going what the hell. It’s going to take me a lot of time to figure out how I feel about this game. It’s really good, it’s sucked me in. The combat and platforming feel great, but I’m not sure how I feel about the structure of the world.

Silksong is too difficult and punishing for your average player. There are times when I died a couple times on a fight and I was like, damn, people are gonna get stuck here, and there are so few benches that the runbacks are fucking ridiculous. Lots of people are going to stop having fun and quit.

I’m loving Silksong, but I must add my voice to this opinion. Hornets dive attack sucks so unbelievably bad compared to the knights pogo swing. It’s slow, the hitbox is too specific, chaining pogos in opposite directions is horrible. They did not need to fuck with the best part of hk: the control.
