In an incredible move, Saddle Lake Cree Nation in Alberta, Canada has announced a gender-affirming care clinic for trans youth, asserting tribal sovereignty and defying the region's ban. It is one of the biggest cross-movement solidarity moments in Canada. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Canada First Nation Leaders Announce They Won’t Comply With Alberta Trans Care Ban

In honour of #InternationalOwlDay. (It may be a bit niche [or maybe not, seeing the popularity of #TheOdyssey], but it's my favourite of any memes I've made.)

A tiny owl standing on a road, looking up at a policewoman who is crouching down. A balloon above the owls head reads: Ma'am, do you have a moment to talk about our goddess Pallas Athena?

Having an in person international or national event in America? Are you weighing factors like lodging and transport? Cool stuff to do? Here's a map to consider if any of your attendees may possibly, even remotely be LGBTQIA. And you care about them.

I like Battletech a lot but this diagram should be a good primer on why I find the rules too fiddly to really love.

Intervening terrain diagram from the new Battletech core box via https://www.tumblr.com/is-the-battlemech-cool-or-not/820861818673233920/some-very-nicely-made-reference-charts-included which depicts to mechs on different terrain levels and whether wood hexes at various levels would impact line of sight.

Trans people are not “fighting for unpopular positions that society isn’t ready for.” Trans people are fighting to KEEP the rights we have enjoyed for decades. We have been able to legally change our gender markers since the 70s and before. Same with bathrooms, sports, youth, all for decades.

Table Top Transition #comic #transgender #dnd #lgbt #ocs

A voice offscreen says “Welcome to the table! So what kind of character did you make?” Adrian, blushing, replies “Oh, uhh I made a super cool sorcerer. But I made her a girl cause I thought it would be funny to be…er PLAY a girl.”

A more androgynous looking Adrian is poking their fingers together shyly. The offscreen voice says “Huh? You’re gonna play a girl again??” Adrian replies “Y-yeah! I just feel like I can relate more with girl characters! Still cis though…”

Adrian’s, now known as Rylie, friends are all shocked and simultaneously say “You’re gonna play a guy?!” She awkwardly says “Hehe, it’s true. I mean, when you think about it…”

Rylie, now beaming with a big smile says “ I don’t feel like I have to play as a girl, cause being a girl isn’t a fantasy anymore!”

NEW: Seattle might declare a civil emergency to help LGBTQ (mostly trans) people fleeing red states, so I looked for a Texas angle. An organizer told me that Texas is #1 among trans people looking to relocate: "The baseline hostility to their existence is unbearable." www.chron.com/culture/arti...

So many LGBTQ Texans are moving to this city, it may declare an 'emergency'

Seattle is one of the many places that transgender Texans are resettling after fleeing their home state.
