iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I’ve often been told that societal trends swing back and forth: so while now it may seem that the dominant trend is people not caring for one another, it’s just a matter of time before trends swing in the other direction, at least that is what I keep telling myself.

The professor told me that all across her campus students are catching “the freshman flu” (and that this is not limited only to actual freshman), and when I asked her what she makes of it she replied that “the freshman flu” is an odd way of spelling Covid.

Apparently in France the government is decrying “the sharp rise in the number of sick leaves” occurring “since 2020,” but here in the US the government need not decry such things, for over here most of us don’t have sick leave at all.

Much remains unknown about the plague outbreak (and if it even is an outbreak), but as we wait, and as we watch, for more information, I am just heartened to know that we’ve devoted the last several weeks to mocking the people trying not to get or spread sickness.

To whom it may concern: if in this moment you find yourself caring again about a deadly outbreak in a distant country, please remember: thar the Ebola outbreak in DR Congo is still ongoing.

By now you have probably heard that the world is ready, that the world is readier than it has ever been, for another pandemic, but as you now hear about the outbreak of plague in Russia let us hope that we are not about to find out if the world really is ready.

I’ve heard the potential plague case means we should be concerned about biosafety. And I’ve heard the potential plague case means we should be concerned about transparency. And I’ve heard that living in this era of plagues means we should be concerned.

As you sift through the news and through the opinions about the possible outbreak of plague in Russia, please keep in mind, please try to keep in mind, that New York has declared a statewide disaster emergency over the current outbreak of measles in that state.

Based on the things you hear in the news right now it is understandable if you are worried about pneumonic plague. And yet based on the coughs you hear around you right now you should understand that your bigger worry should be Covid pneumonia.
