Oh that sounds awful for her. I do hope she can find the path to recovery we have done mate. Same old for me, been working in USA a bit more this year than usual. Gonna give it a few more years then tap out before I burn out. Had some losses in family which hit us both hard but we are getting by

I have this too. Can’t relax. I relax by doing. Working on it though. Had a week off work and did nothing, struggled at first but then after a few days was ok. Old habits back now, just done a meditation to try and slow down

Morning #RecoveryPosse this will be my 4th sober Christmas The 1st one, my addiction made me feel like it was going to be awful, I’d miss out, friends would laugh at me for not drinking or using & more Guess what? None of that happened, I enjoyed myself & now Christmas is fun!

It’s very easy to put pressure on yourself to make the ‘perfect’ Christmas by comparing your plans to others. My advice is just do the things you enjoy, with your family & friends & take no notice of what everyone else is up to. Make memories not instagram likes.

The one piece of advice I can give over the festive period to anyone trying to beat an addiction is: Put your recovery first. There will be more Christmases this way. If you don’t, there may not. Treat #recovery like a matter of life & death. Because it is. #RecoveryPosse

1,403 days ago I was lucky enough to be able to ask for help to get sober. I took cocaine every day & abused alcohol. I was very unwell & couldn’t stop. The book Rational Recovery by Jack Trimpey & the support of many in #recoveryposse helped me get here. Please believe you can beat addiction

Facebook memories showed a photo of me from 9 years ago. At the time I was drinking & using regularly The change in my appearance is motivating to me, I look pale, sick, puffy & dead eyed In 2 days I will be 3 years, 10 months sober. Keep going, we do recover #RecoveryPosse
