For the first time in years, I don't feel like a cancer patient. My urological oncologist told me today that after reviewing my latest scans he said I've been stable so long I no longer need yearly follow ups. It's hard to describe how it feels to be normal.

B.C. has changed its clocks for possibly the last time, but there is still controversy over the switch to permanent daylight saving time. As Kylie Stanton reports, a Langford councillor says she's concerned about kids walking to school in the dark, and would like the province to invest in more infrastructure.

A councillor in Langford, B.C., on Vancouver Island is expressing her concern about the recent B.C. time change.

British Columbia is adopting year-round daylight saving time, meaning that clocks went forward by one hour for the last time in early March.

However, Langford Coun. Kimberley Guiry said she is concerned about darker mornings as kids head to school.

From November to February, when kids are making their way to school around 8 a.m., it will be in the dark.

Abstract
Large disruptions of chronobiological rhythms are documented as destabilizing individuals with bipolar disorder; however, the impact of small phase altering events is unclear. Australian suicide data from 1971 to 2001 were assessed to determine the impact on the number of suicides of a 1-h time shift due to daylight saving. The results confirm that male suicide rates rise in the weeks following the commencement of daylight saving, compared to the weeks following the return to eastern standard time and for the rest of the year.
