I think flexibility and being able to switch to different styles only helps. And I do enjoy trying new approaches. I've become known amongst editors for being a "render" guy and I kind of hate it though. When I was in my 20's no problem. Now I need ibuprofen.

Now at my older age, I'm working on changing things up again. I don't have the hands anymore. I've come to terms that I worked too hard on the wrong things. Still as unconfident as ever, but attempting to prolong my career with a different process. These are things I hoped to have outgrown by now.

I've spent half my life coloring comics now and not once have I ever been super confident in my work. I thought at some point I'd get past imposter syndrome, but it just shifts to different areas. Too compensate I'd render like crazy (or what I thought was crazy). Painting myself into a corner.

If I remember correctly season 4 is ok, but I couldn't even make it through 2 episodes of season 5.

Did not realize "What If.. Jessica Jones" has already hit stands. This was a fun one shot I got to color over @damess.bsky.social. Here are some samples. I got to dabble with 2 different styles.

Can't remember if I posted this, but this was a fun Geiger cover I colored over Jesus Merino. I love the visual of Geiger. Very cool character design. @ghostmachinepro.bsky.social

I can hear Todd saying, “Pow!” as he points out this edgy take on Doomsday.

He's curious about Doom cause of the movie coming up. I'll try and put Madrox in the queue.

Good call! I just ordered the trade reprint.

My teenage son asked me about Daredevil yesterday, so I handed him my Man Without Fear trade. He's finished it and asking me for more DD comics. This weekend I have to find my actual DD comics. He picked out my Books of Doom trade to hold him over. Brand New Day may have given him the comics bug.

They do a ton at first to setup the game and hide the gameplay loop. Once you start having to just sneak around it got boring. I only made it a couple hours in. Thankfully, it was a gamepass title.

I'm on the multiple app license plan, cause I plan to use the iPad pro also. May try to get a Wacom Movink at some point.

For me it's cost, but also it pretty much does everything PS does. AND the mobile app is exactly the same as the desktop app. For less than 2 months of just a PS subscription you can get a year of CSP Pro. OR you can just flat out buy it for less than $70.

Thanks for this. The idea of taking on ANOTHER app when I'm forcing myself already to use a different app did not sound appealing.

I don't even think trapping is required anymore with today's printers. I could be wrong though.

300

What's the version number do you know?

100

I use a TourBox for all my quick keys, so I'm just going to map it out for Clip Studio the same as PS. Hoping that eases the transition.

020

So does the color profile in Clip Studio matter if you are exporting to Affinity Photo?

110

First question: Are you using Pro or EX? I’m starting on Pro thinking that might be all I need.

Wish me luck. I've got a little bit of time before my next deadline, so I am going to try to make the switch from Photoshop to Clip Studio Paint. I have struggled in the past, but I'm really going try and force myself through it the next couple of days.

Happy Spider-man Day from your friendly neighborhood Spidey colorist!

Well, I'd need 25 of those boxes and shelves to store them. File cabinets would be way cheaper.

Yeah, that's the way I'm leaning. There is a shop down here that has some sweet file cabinets and going to try and track down the same ones.

I'm probably going to get filing cabinets.

This is an old man post for sure. My favorite parts of collecting comics was flipping through the stories and tracking down other issues/series that told me more of the story. Trades are neat, but I'd rather give someone a single issue and send them down the rabbit hole though.

Trying to figure out better storage for my comics, so my youtube feed is full of "comic room tours". I would say 80% of the rooms are collections of trades, a few slabbed comics, and funko pops. It's more like superhero theme rooms than comic book collections.

He is fantastic in Industry. I could tell right away he was going to be in many things after that first season.

Had a dream where an artist I’ve done a bunch of work with reached out to collaborate. I went through the whole thought process of pros and cons before agreeing. Which seems like a happy dream, but I woke up thinking I had added another deadline.
