Dennis Dill @realmstrdill.bsky.social · 30/05/2025

Random question for the #bfc530 chat … Do people play board games or cards any more? I remember growing up it seemed like everyone played games. Were physical games replaced by digital games? Are they better? Whaat are your thoughts?

Something I wish I did, but didn’t … History Fair with the students … we started it but then got hit with a couple If hurricanes and missed school so it got lost in the missed school days. I love doing that project with the kids. #bfc530

One thing that bothers me is when people use the phrase “do it for the students” as a tool of manipulation … usually when they are adding something else to our teaching plate. #bfc530

As a veteran teacher, I enjoy a lot of autonomy. Although, I am in a system of rules and standards that must be followed so so I am not really sure if I have real autonomy or if I just think I do because my Admin isn’t telling me what to do all the time. #bfc530

010

Dennis Dill @realmstrdill.bsky.social · 13/05/2025

AI is becoming more and more prevalent and it is here to stay … I am annoyed with AI in automated answering … it never seems to know how to help … kids are using it to answer questions so they don’t have to read or do the learning activity … the process of learning can’t be skipped #bfc530

Teacher Appreciation Week … we got donuts Monday and a luncheon Tuesday … I have had one kid acknowledge that it is teacher Appreciation week … I like the concept of teacher appreciation week but it just seems like a faux appreciation because appreciation should happen all the time #bfc530
