Personal theory is that Empire looks and feel so good and has such good forward momentum partly b/c the lighting visually follows the rhythm of one day: Hoth is brightly morning, mid movie is neutral, Cloud planet is happening at sundown, Luke v. Vader is at night. Simple stuff but effective!

I think a big thing I've not seen is touching on as we keep bringing this up is the sale of the IP to Disney. Star Wars as George Lucas intended and Star Wars Disney are two separate conversations. You can dislike both but still worth clarifying as we go forward with dated critique
