Yes, he may be dead, but his legacy lives on every time the House shuts down for a month to prevent having to take a vote on a popular but politically tricky policy

There are probably other states with the same problem, but Virginia really does seem disproportionately cursed with "pull the ladder up behind you!" localities.

I know WaPo is like what it is now, but it's certainly a move to normalize McConnell's disappearance by referencing John McCain and Dianne Feinstein's absences from the senate before, you know, they *died*.

Get fucked, Jamie Dimon - while you are a stagnant dinosaur working with Navy SEAL-sized teams (15-18 people), I am an agile titan of business with my Second-Violin-section-of-the-New-York-Philharmonics-sized teams (15-18 people)

Lorelei Gilmore is the platonic ideal of a particular "working class" in she spends a year or two in a service industry job, moves into management, and then is "paycheck-to-paycheck" only in the "40% of my income goes to retirement and saving which leaves me nothing left in my budget!"

I drop "Y'all"s in work emails, as there is literally nothing else that works so perfectly to (1) show that we're collegial work buddies! It's a contraction! I only use that with people I like! and (2) completely remove myself from responsibility for whatever stupid thing they are trying to do.

There's a crisis of masculinity in this country. Specifically, yelling at old men when you're mad at God, instead of getting together a bunch of guys, getting on an ill-fated ship, and having an ambiguously homoerotic time while hunting the physical embodiment of God's capriciousness toward creation

The US Supreme Court issued a 6-3 decision on a solution to the trolley problem
Drawing from the Good Place with Michael's solution to the trolley problem, showing the trolley running over 5 people on the one track and having a contraption to behead the person on the other track with the beheaded person having a voice bubble reading "You got us all! Great work!"

The reflecting pool is also one of the few things that is emotionally asymmetrical in our favor. While the pool is a mess, Trump clearly finds it distressing and it preoccupies him; if it were fixed tomorrow, most of us would just not think about it again.

I keep thinking about the scene in Chernobyl where they keep ratcheting up the pressure and removing safeguards under the belief that they have a button that they can always press to shut everything down, which - in a twist of dramatic irony - is the thing that ultimately causes the explosion.
