Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

The builders behind Alligator Alcatraz and other detention sites are top DeSantis donors. They scored no-bid or “emergency” contracts worth tens of millions—while funneling cash into his political machine. Pay-to-play isn’t just speculation—it’s backed by the paper trail. 🧵

Women who have married and changed their names could be prevented from voting under the SAVE Act. The same is true of anyone else whose name doesn’t match their birth certificate. The MAGA crew really cherish voter suppression and disenfranchisement, don’t they?

I’ve said it before. I’m saying it again. Buy hard copies of books - history, science, politics, whatever your interests are. Do it before the books are banned, burned, labeled a “false narrative,” or rewritten to suit the new reich’s agenda. It’s happening. We see it. Fahrenheit 451 is here. Now.

Some TikTokers are even holding up messages in cursive on serious matters while speaking about casual topics, since they believe the cursive is not as likely to be read and flagged by the system’s AI moderation tools. Code words & subversive cursive weren’t on my 2025 bingo card, but here we are.

>> As governments push for tighter controls on online speech, TikTok users have become adept at communicating in code. Terms like “cute winter boots” allow creators to critique policies or discuss sensitive topics without triggering moderation filters.<<

As the Economic Times spells out: >> These references have little to do with fashion. Instead, “cute winter boots” is a euphemism for resistance against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and broader governmental policies.<<

Sounds like TikTokers took notes during their RedNote exile…! TikTokers have been adopting code phrases to get around the algorithm’s attempts to suppress their conversations on topics that matter more than, say, fashion — with a breakout example, now widely reported, being “cute winter boots.”

A note on timing: Iowa Republicans clearly anticipated Trump’s executive order (thanks, Project 2025); made plans and created legislation in advance; and had this directive towards public universities ready to go within 48 hours of the executive order. It’s a coordinated action.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynold’s memorandum to Iowa state university presidents states: “Trump’s executive order should remove any justification for retaining illegal DEI offices, policies, or staff within your universities.”

Similar directives could soon be addressed to private colleges and universities in Iowa. Other states with similar political climates may consider this a harbinger of orders that could soon target their institutions of higher education, as well.

🗣️ Just in from Iowa: Recent state law combined with Trump’s January 21 executive order has rendered DEI offices, policies, and staff at public universities “illegal.”
