I think the other part is that HSR is such a mixed juristicition, that it just makes it very hard esp when crossing provinces.

Maybe, but I will also point out that car users (drivers/passengers) outnumber bike/bus/walking 8 to 1. So people who push active transit/bikes have to find ways to persuade drivers.

*puts on nuance hat*. Depends. If its across the board like we've seen since 2025, yeah. But I will point out the 100% tariff on chinese EVs/batteries (and only these) do preserve capacity much better. (Since they don't have parts made in the US)

It depends. Like wealth isnt the only thing that matters. The other part is keeping some production helps in the event of war, by being able to be converted into a tank.

Me personally, I think the roads is the odd one out. We charge a lot for sewer upgrades, and for hydro. Transit too. Thats also why I keep proposing a road toll for trucks to start.
