I didn't know his name before this but he's a real one: member of La France Insoumise (to the left of the Socialists), took down Macron's portrait in the mayor's office, said elected leaders belong in the streets with the people

If a guard yanks clothes off a trans woman–to satisfy his curiosity or to mock her–cis women are in danger too. I'm cis. I was misgendered most of my life. In public bathrooms, women screamed for cops. I was almost fag-bashed twice. Abusing any woman opens that door. We're all in this together.

Man, leading the fight against women being admitted to Princeton while he was a student there really is his origin story. And doing that as a New Jersey Italian who’d never have gotten in a generation earlier. I guess that ladder was only for him

The mixed use social zone of it all is where the last bastion of salvageable Americana will go to die. I guess it’s fine that liberal democracy is dead if this is going to be the county fair. Sigh.

Just a reminder: Tillis persuaded the woman Hegseth allegedly raped to come forward with her story, and told her that if she did, it would sink the nomination. She did. At great risk to herself. Tillis then cast the deciding vote for Hegseth. Because he’s a goddamned coward.

Also, is there any other crime during which the criminal is not responsible if the victim is "voluntarily" intoxicated? Like, if I'm drunk and someone robs me, is the thief able to say "she was drunk so it's her fault not mine"?

Anyway, your problem isn‘t finding the time to take notes. The problem is that taking notes is thinking and thinking has to be done by someone. women have been doing a lot of metacognition that looks like a task when it’s really thinking.
