Literally, I had never heard OF this song or this singer until Friday, when NPR said it was the longest running song on the Billboard charts or something. I have truly never heard this song—even now. I even made a comment to my wife about how this exemplifies the loss of monoculture.

I mean, most schools don’t have students read whole books anymore, so this isn’t that unique. That’s the curriculum that’s been pushed on public schools for the last 10 years & most have adopted it. My last admin actively discouraged teaching whole books in English class. It’s bleak out here!

If you're a Dem who thinks you'll gain something by going anti-trans, look at Gallup's "most important problem" and Fox News' "most important issue" polling and see where trans issues rank. Whoever told you going anti-trans is a savvy or necessary move spends too much time on X and should be fired.

Case in point: when the WA progressive voters’ guide endorsed a centrist over a legitimate progressive bc they thought he had a better chance of winning in the general, THEY WERE FUCKING WRONG. He lost BY SO MUCH in the primary. This is not a winning strategy!

This could have been me, my wife, my house. Except we don’t have a small flag, we have a giant one + a No Hate in WA State sign in the upstairs window (vote no on genital exams for kids!). Our elderly neighbors, who have a trans son, also display their flags. Now I have to worry about them too.

My favorite thing about Spokane & Tacoma is that both cities (the 2nd & 3rd largest in the state, respectively) have brutal self-deprecating slogans. Tacoma’s is seen in the photo below. “Tacoma: It’s Not That Bad” “Spokane Doesn’t Suck” Or my personal favorite: “Keep Spokane Kind of Gross”

I was just reading about a man who was sentenced to life in prison for felony murder when a friend of his killed two cyclists while in a car chase with cops. The man, Sadiq, was in a cop car on the way to jail AT THE TIME OF THE CHASE. Meaning, he didn’t know, wasn’t there, etc.

My wife paid over $8k in business taxes in May. The IRS cashed the check (she has proof) & keeps insisting she didn’t pay it. Her accountant has been trying for literal months to get this cleared up & has shown them evidence. She just got another notice in the mail that she owes this money. 🥴

He specifically calls out autos, but obviously doesn’t know that a large portion of used pick-ups in the U.S. are imported from Canada. There simply isn’t a large enough supply here to meet demand. But sure! Make work trucks even more expensive to buy. That’ll work out well for Rs in the midterms.

The sentencing here is so absurd, it's a miscarriage of justice. A guy who wasn't present or involved got 30 years for moving a box of zines. The two people who helped plan January 6th, Enrique Tarrio and Stewart Rhodes got 22 years and 18 years for seditious conspiracy, respectively.

Really, really wish there had been this same (national media) energy when this EXACT SAME CHARGE was brought against the Spokane 9, of which 6 took plea deals & 3 are now convicted. The Spokane 3 are facing federal prison & $250k in fines.
