Sam just showed me this lineart page from MAGIC WANDA’S FRANKENSTEINEMA today and I’m marveling at how he took a very complex brief and executed in ways that were both right on brief and different than I expected. Have I mentioned lately how much I love having him as my creative partner

DAVE: Well, hang on, we’re IN a cartoon! It could be a normal lever for all we know! Maybe it turns the AC on!
BILL: What? We’re not in a cartoon. We’re still images on a page.

[WANDA locates and pulls the big cartoon lever and THE BOYS fall through a trap door into a pipe and through a series of floors/rooms like when people in cartoons go down drains. BILL and DAVE continue to argue as they go through the pipe.]

DAVE: Hold on, you’re saying this can’t be a cartoon because it’s not animated?
BILL: I mean, you don’t say “I’m gonna go read some cartoons,” do you? You say you’re gonna WATCH cartoons.

DAVE: What about political cartoons? Those don’t move.
BILL: Oh, the lowest form of art? The political cartoon? That’s the bedrock of your argument?

DAVE: Wow, okay buddy, political cartoons are not INHERENTLY bad art–
BILL: Name one political cartoonist who makes good, funny work. A single one who made you laugh.

BILL: He’s–he’s SATIRIZING political cartoons, man! His are funny because they normally suck on ice!

BILL: WELL MAYBE I THINK THEY SHOULD DO BOTH, DAVE, WITH “MOVE” BEING THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THEY DO!
