fringe benefit of being trans is that this possible breast cancer situation I'm dealing w. has a potential silver lining of top surgery covered by insurance. Ik double mastectomy for cancer doesn't produce the same results as cosmetic surgery but any way they slice it boobs still gone.

I think the worst part of navigating the US healthcare system is the indifference of the machine. I can't be mad at the overworked, underpaid desk staff who didn't give enough of a shit to make sure my script went through on friday so I could have my appointment this morning.

It’s crazy u go to the doctor and they kinda don’t explain anything to you at all… let me schedule u for The Procedure… I’m not gonna tell you what exactly I’m doing or if it’s gonna hurt or anything. But my assistant will tell you that mysteriously you can’t shower for 24 hours afterwards.

Glad folks are appalled by photos of the "phone booth" cage under an awning, but pls understand: This IG report is likely part of a cover-up. Amnesty Int'l interviewed detainees EIGHT MONTHS AGO who said the cage was half this size (couldn't stand up), had no awning, w feet chained to the bottom.

Really enjoying @devintoshea.bsky.social 's Veiled Prophet book. This is a great micro/macro book- I learned a lot about the history of St. Louis, but also a ton about the broader history of money and power in the US. Very readable because the whole story is completely insane!!!

I had a doctor ask if i was concern abt weight gain because I was 5 lbs heavier when I came in once. I had a history of ED, I was in my 20s and regularly fluctuating between 5-10 lbs. not clinically significant! Only torture!
