i have got to get better at art says the artist that's probably fine, is usually happy with what they make, but is constantly adding 1 new thing to each piece to see if it sticks

As a science fiction writer I really fucking resent tech bros for ruining the phrase "artificial intelligence." 80 years of it being all about cool androids and interesting computers destroyed by five years of "Spicy autocorrect making everything shittier for money." NEVER FORGIVE.

These were really good posts explaining Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria I had to pull over On a personal level, this is one of my hardest things to deal with. Thankfully its not constant, and I've learned outward reactive regulation, but inside its still this, and sometimes the sad slips out >> 1/2

Post reads:
People with ADHD have what’s called Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). It’s an extreme emotional response to perceived criticism or rejection.

Your brain can’t regulate the emotional pain, so a small comment feels like a devastating attack. A minor correction feels like total failure. Someone’s tone feels like hatred.
It’s not oversensitivity. It’s not being dramatic. Your brain literally can’t modulate the intensity of that emotional response.

It’s neurological, not a character flaw.

Post reads:
If you love someone with ADHD, understand that tone is a weapon you didn't know you were carrying. A short text or a sigh of frustration isn't just a moment of stress to them, it's a signal of impending exile. Your consistency and reassurance aren't coddling; they are the bridge that helps them cross the gap of their own neurological insecurity.

Being someone who draws is so funny because for weeks you’ll be like “I’ve lost it, my ability to draw is gone forever” and then the next day you wake up and draw the best thing you’ll ever make like it was nbd

I don’t think ppl understand the whole “who cares if nobody likes it! make content for yourself” is extremely dismissive Bc we ARE making the content for ourselves but it feels /bad/ when people don’t engage or show interest. You can care about both at the same time

lrt hey guess how you make damn sure bsky staff won't listen to you when something ACTUALLY shitty pops up? Constant fearmongering and outrage farming like this. You're creating a culture of "Oh yeah bsky users are just like this". Don't do that if you wanna be taken seriously when it matters

Seriously guys, the label stuff has been here for years and was even praised at the beginning. The whole point is to moderate your own experience. No, Bluesky does not want to control what you see. Learn how the site works, please I swear every few months there's a new thing to overreact to.

PARTY CUSTOMIZATION: - Striker - Summoner - Marauder > Oracle - Chloromancer "Hmhm... Naturally." And last in this lineup, Kisara, oracle of the Trionic Church. Snake of a man who politicked his way into a high position despite his low birth. Least shady member of the clergy.

PARTY CUSTOMIZATION: - Striker - Summoner - Marauder - Oracle > Chloromancer "Ugh, this better be good... What do you want?." Midori! A dryad, a kind of sprite closely tied to a specific part of the world. Became a traveler after her forest was burned down, is incredibly angry about it.

LRT it's worth noting that I actually enjoy being an amateur game designer it's part of the fun of the hobby to me but like, when I do that I make my own stuff from scratch to GM. Patching up someone else's work sucks and I hate it so the point stands-

"Be an unpaid game designer and patch shit that doesn't work" is an unnecessary part of this burden, and one of the most foundational arguments for why games should work out of the box is simply because the GM should not have to put up with that shit on top of everything else

This is an incredibly apt point, one that D&D in particular is historically incredibly bad at noting and facilitating to the point that "GM burnout" is a thing, because it places a bunch of shitty, unenjoyable burdens upon whoever has been chosen to actually run the game

...that's just part of the process sometimes

A four panel comic. Each panel is roughly the same.

Panel 1: I am leaning into my monitor screen, scribbling the final touches of a drawing. Text above reads '(A multi hour illustration.)'

Panel 2: I lean back. Text above reads '*Save*'

Panel 3: I pause, not moving at all.

Panel 4: Finally in the last panel I speak, declaring 'I hate it.'

Turns out the secret sauce to hiding bsky image compression is just uploading real high-res stuff so that the resizing hides the artifacts. Sorta counterproductive but aight I can work with that Feels like something most folks already knew but hey, learn every day
