Excellent piece on Miller on habeas. Far superior to the surprisingly both-sides-ish coverage by some media. What Miller is claiming the power to do isn’t questionable or dubious. It would be anti-constitutional usurpation. www.stevevladeck.com/p/148-suspen...

148. Suspending Habeas Corpus

In response to adverse rulings in numerous immigration cases, Stephen Miller is raising the specter of suspending habeas. His argument is factually and legally nuts, but it's worth explaining *why.*

LA is going to simply be uninsurable after this, isn't it? I mean, what happens if you can't get homeowners insurance in one of the biggest real estate markets in the US? I know this is a what-comes-next issue, but also seems like the most direct way the market will HAVE to care abt climate chaos.

was disappointed with my result until I saw the star that only 83% got this one …. that’s among the lowest I’ve ever seen. Now i’m grateful ☺️ Wordle 1,300 5/6* ⬛⬛🟨⬛🟨 ⬛🟨🟨🟨⬛ 🟨🟩⬛🟩⬛ ⬛🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 WordleBot Skill 62/99 Luck 39/99

i just looked up the post. Wow! The reactions are so extreme. I suspect ppl are so used to virtue signaling & subtweeting (mixed with a cultural dose of “criticism of my choices is a criticism of me”) that they are misreading an observation that contradicts their choices. still, it’s shocking!

Wemby is putting the world on notice. Last night he went toe-to-tor with the best player in the world - the Joker- & dropped 35/18/4 … and won in Denver! Never seen anything like him. And he just turned 21 today! Il lui… roughly translated “he him.” 👽

Victor Wembanyama appreciation post part 2: Victor is currently averaging 3.93 blocks per game. That’s ranked 20th ALL TIME in the era of 3pter. The last time someone averaged this many bpg was Dikembe Mutumbo in 1995! It’s been 30 years. 😱 Most shot blockers hit their peak at 26. He’s 20.

Exactly! I’m not quite sure why it isn’t registering to people but he is already “Him” at 20 years old. The blocks, the shooting, the passing …. Team USA will have a problem in LA in 2028 😬

Victor Wembanyama has already begun breaking records we just haven’t noticed. Here’s just a few: NBA’s youngest block leader Others to lead NBA in blocks while scoring 20+: Hakeem, Shaq, Kareem, Dwight, David Robinson, Alonzo Of those, only him, Hakeem & Kareem did it with 3.5 assists pg!

After reading up on Jimmy Carter, it seems as if he was one of the most principled and least problematic presidents ever. Ironically, it’s also what contributed to him serving 1 term. He didn’t play the game. He simply sought to govern. Grateful for the way he lived out his faith in public.

Shooting and killing a man in cold blood is wrong. Yes, it’s still wrong even if that man is the CEO of company who is responsible for denying healthcare claims that result in bankruptcy or death. It’s shocking to me that to many this is a controversial statement.

interesting how the narratives about declining faith underreport the significant differences in nonwhite communities. I pastor a church of predominantly 20’s & 30’s in NYC. We need to listen and learn from more communities in the church. They might be doing something that’s working.

ever notice how it’s customary to compliment the appearance of a baby you see for the first time? “Awww, they’re cute.” Every once in awhile I laugh while imagining someone with the social skills of Dwight Schrute saying: “That baby don’t look right!” It gets me every time. 😆
