🚨NEW: @cbsnews.com reports ICE is arresting people who can't even legally be deported and holding them without enough food or water in a federal building BASEMENT in Los Angeles. Families dutifully attending check-ins with ICE are being arrested and held for days, forced to sleep on the floor.

One attorney, Lizbeth Mateo, said ICE officials slated several of her clients for check-ins at the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building in downtown L.A. but when they showed up on Tuesday, they were detained and immediately escorted to the basement.

Mateo said a couple and their two children, one of whom is a U.S. citizen, spent the night in a room with no beds and limited access to food and water. Mateo said the father had previously been issued a stay of removal, barring him from deportation but he and his family were detained anyway. His wife was released Wednesday evening along with their children since she needed medical attention due to a high-risk pregnancy. He was still being detained early Friday, Mateo said.

Nobody can know how russia will evade previous sanctions before it starts evading those sanctions, the situation isn’t static. That’s a recurring source of miscalculation when trying to formulate a strategy: assuming that the enemy will remain idle after you do something.

Food is one of the hardest things to draw/represent, very impressive work. Although, i went to watch the movie Ocean with David Attenborough at the theater this week and it adds a painful flavor to sardines… which i love… but i recommend watching it still, there is also hope.

In my case, they twisted it around by insisting that it was about forcing others to become LGBTQ+ for instance, kinda blows my mind that i even ever so slightly bought into their words. I should have known that it was designed to saw hatred, and I knew, but i simply ditched the word as nonsense.

it’s interesting because none of what i was presented with by this kind of people is even mentioned by that article (which i find remarkably clear and concise btw), I see points that get close to what i was told but it was distorted tu such a degree that it became meaningless… hence my initial reply

Thank you for the plain and simple explanation. I must say that when one asks a maga (or far right person more generally) what it means, that’s not at all the definition they give, at least in my personal experience. And now that I think about it, it makes sense that they don’t present it that way.
