I can't do nursing forever. At least not the kind I do now - Floor nursing, night shift, 4-6 patients on any given night. I'm not sure which part is harder on my body - lifting and moving that many patients on a regular basis or just the "working nights" part of it. I'm not certain I can do this for another five years, much less another twenty.

I said goodbye to Rascal this week. As I said before, he's been in my house for 15+ years now. Longer than any dog of his size should live. I feel like I'm mourning differently than everyone else in the house, but I'm still mourning. I was his person.
