Seems like a good day to remark that as a medium-tall woman I feel a lot safer in any context with trans women minding their own business than with TERFs of any persuasion wanting to get their disgusting noses into what I keep in my knickers.

Since I don't know for sure that @girlinthe.bsky.social has seen this, it is necessary to repost. I think @wobblygoose.bsky.social would also appreciate it.

This, from the Quakers, is a pretty good example of how to resist pressure from bigot lobbying groups. Effectively “we legally can allow trans people to use the loo, we morally should, and we tried it and nothing bad happened”

It's possible that dubbinning my sandals and @sciansell's boots last night and then leaving them in the conservatory to dry was an error. We forgot to shut the outside door, and when we came to look this morning only half each pair was in inside. The others were in the garden, I'm blaming the fox..
Top: a sandal from which one of the straps has been chewed
Below: an ankle boot with half the tongue torn out and one side mangled.

Sometimes, we go on family outings. Sometimes @sciansell.bsky.social goes on exhibit maintenance trips. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference. In related news, the kids are having an awesome time at The Lookout in Bracknell Forest. Highly recommended. (Also has a really super play area).
Foreground: two primary school aged children in blue t-shirts play with magnetic tubes on a steel ball run wall.
Background: just visible behind a dagger barrier, a man with a ponytail is sitting on the floor in front of part of a science exhibit he has taken down from a wall mounting.

Invoicing a client for quite a small amount of work. They want 'proof' of our bank account. The email says "must be scanned". Not living in 2005, we have all our banking online. I've sent them a pdf. Will it work? We shall see. What more will be achieved if they make me print and then scan it?

I guess now is a good time to make sure folks going to @big-stem-network.bsky.social BIG event know that you've got a week to dig out and pack any lasers you'd like testing. An alarming number of (especially cheap..) laser pointers are Dangerously Not What They Say They Are. We can check yours!
A photo of part of a set of small drawers. The lowest drawer is marked "lasers" and contains assorted lasers.

I think it's likely @girlinthe.bsky.social has already seen this thread. But.. just in case.

At the back of your kitchen cupboard is something pickled or preserved in a jar that you were given for Christmas several years ago that you’ve never quite felt like eating. Throw it out now.

@camcitco.bsky.social I'm struggling to work out which heading on the website to report this on.. Bike/pedestrian cut through from Newmarket Road to Peverel Road, past Christ the Redeemer Church, the footpath/bike path divider is broken in a couple of places and looks like going soon in another.
A view of a metal (steel?) pipe type fence on a cut through footpath by a fence showing a weld joint broken and displaced. A view down a cut through path divided into pedestrian and cycle sides, awooden fence to the right, a wire fence and a car park on the left hand side. In the middle a concrete post and metal (steel?) pipe type fence shows another broken weld joint, this one displaced by several inches.

The plural of moose is moozoog. Moose is a loan word from the Algonquian language family, which includes Anishinaabemowin, the language of my people and Norval Morrisseau, who painted these moozoog here.

Cake sale at the kids' school tomorrow. Very nice (non-British) dad at the school gate. "So, tomorrow morning we bring cake?" "Yes." "And tomorrow afternoon we buy it back again?" "Yep." "This is not even a Ponzi scheme, it is a mugging. But all the money is for the school?" "Yeah." "Oh, OK."
A cupcake with an orange case barely visible around the edges. Grey buttercream icing on top, with an inexpertly drawn spider in green writing icing in the centre.
