This is a question I’m embarrassed to ask, having grown up in the LA area, but does Chicano/a/x refer primarily to people of Mexican heritage who have family history in what is *now* called the US (CA, NM, Texas, etc.) or does it include anyone of Mexican ancestry, e.g., first generation USians?
