To paraphrase Mamdani 'wr need to stop voting for the lesser evil and start seeking a greater good'. If the best you've got to support Carney is that he is better than PP you are supporting the lesser evil. And hanging around with Maxwell and Andrew isn't a good look either.

Why do so many @mark-carney.bsky.social supporters quote @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social when Mamdani stands for supporting workers over billionaires? Carney like Cuomo stands with the rich against the poor and thus one would think he was more their speed

No longer should we think about our political process as settling for the lesser of two evils. We can demand a greater good. - Zohran Mamdani in groovy font

In #Canada both #Federal and #Provincial governments have the ability to build the infrastructure and services people need, it's called investing in your own people. #neoliberalism dictates that they give our money to private interests instead and find excuses for why life doesn't get better.

The changes to the Public Sector Labour Relations Act would alter the arbitration process for public service bargaining units.

Here are my political predictions for the next few years in Canada: 1st - Enough CPC MP's are going to defect to the Liberals to ensure the budget passes 2nd - PP will resign after the leadership review in January and will be replaced as CPC by Doug Ford 1/🧵

Both corporate CEO's and politicians are masters of saying what people want to hear and then doing the opposite at the first opportunity. His budget is 100% a trickle-down budget.

When I was a child I would try and use the excuse "but everybody else is doing it" and she would always respond "and if everybody else jumped off a bridge, would you?" Now #Canada is abandoning #climatechange for #oil and #gas and literally using the justification "but everybody else is doing it"

Zohran did the exact same thing Obama did in 2008; he offered people hope for a better future and a viable plan for changes that would be directly beneficial to them (no trickle down tricks required)

Yes - socialism agendas work because striving for equality is something most humans actually prefer. Give the billionaires a trophy for winning capitalism then tax them out of existence. Capitalism works best when there is a government that enacts rules, oversight and watchdogs.

Increased militarism? Abandonment of addressing climate change? Slashing of public services? Billions in handouts to corporations? Those are acceptable to you, but criticizing tax breaks on yachts is your deal breaker? I have no problem with your choice of an insect based diet, it's a free country

Appreciate the high speed rail — but what about the rest for working-class Canadians? Cutting taxes on private jets for the 0.01% may help corporations, but won’t help those who will lose their jobs because of AI and austerity. Canada Strong must mean *all* Canadians, not just a minority thereof!

No we can't do it alone BUT we could have held the line on what we were doing (which was already inadequate) instead of moving in the opposite direction of actively encouraging emissions. Long term this is going to leave Canada wildly out of position when the pendulum swings.

- Slamming the door on climate refugees - Eliminating carbon cap (because more emissions somehow help fight climate change) - 'Investing' in Carbon Capture (technology that doesn't work but will but billions into O&G shareholders pockets)

To put this into numbers for folks: If you bought a cabin at $100,000 and sold it for $500,000; Your capital gain is $400,000. Under Trudeau's rules you would have had $268,000 of income upon which you would pay taxes; under Carney you only pay taxes on $200,000 pocketing an extra $68,000 tax free

Your partner paid income taxes on 50% of the capital gains from the sale of the cottage, the other 50% of the capital gains where tax free. The total amount paid is not the problem, the amount exempted from taxation is.

Implementing legislation specifically allowing an action and then saying that any criticism said action is an 'idealogic narrative' is ideological in and of itself; and at no point did I say any of those actions where illegal, thus shifting the goalposts to reference the SCOC is a logical fallacy.
