The legal threats against iLaw have become an early test of Thailand's commitment to protecting public participation. #Thailand #ฮั้วเลือกสว #ฮั้วสว #คดีฮั้วสว
thaienquirer.com
Opinion: Bhumjaithai says it isn’t a SLAPP. That makes this the perfect test case.
Bhumjaithai insists it is not trying to silence the Internet Law Reform Dialogue (iLaw). The party says it is simply defending its reputation after iLaw compiled a dossier linking Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and eight other senior party figures to the ongoing Senate election collusion investigation. Defending one's reputation is a legitimate right. But when criminal defamation is deployed against a public interest watchdog over allegations involving one of the country's most consequential political investigations, the distinction between protecting a reputation and discouraging public scrutiny becomes increasingly difficult to sustain.

Praying for all my friends and colleagues in Bangkok. There was a horrific fire at a night club in the Central Lad Phrao area in the last hour. Dozens, if not hundreds, have died. I've never seen flames that intense before, it was like something you'd see with a rocket engine.

ESPN out with an absolutely off the wall set of picks for the Spurs. Even while acknowledging the Spurs biggest needs are frontcourt related, ESPN has them taking Swain, a 6'8" SG/SF who can't shoot and isn't an elite rebounder, at #20 followed by a PG at #35 and undersized PF at #42 and #44

Not a lot of highlights for the Spurs in that first half. Plenty of lowlights. Wemby needs to get in the paint and be assertive demanding the ball. Harper needs to wake up and focus. Fox needs to start making shots. Someone needs to make Caruso start missing shots.

57 Million Liters of Oil Discrepancy Sparks Nationwide Crackdown in Thailand
57 million liters of oil unaccounted for in southern Thailand has triggered a sweeping government crackdown on suspected stockpiling, smuggling, and profiteering networks, with authorities escalating the case into a special investigation and vowing decisive legal action. At Government House on April 3, Justice Minister Pol Lt Gen Rutthapon Naowarat said an inspection into oil transport operations in Surat Thani found that 217 million liters of oil were shipped from depots across 96 tanker trips to six destinations, but only 160 million liters reached their endpoints—leaving 57 million liters missing during transit.

On the term "double tap" there exists an expansive chasm between the strict and narrow legal definition in which it exists in miltary terms and the much broader and pliable definition the general public holds as their general belief of how it is defined.
