Sell socks online. Capitalism still works in Finland. But they decided that housing people didn’t need to turn a profit. Because sometimes, the moral thing is the practical thing. And no one thrives when their neighbour is sleeping in a tent by the river. You can’t KPI your way out of a crisis. Sometimes, you just have to give a damn."

New VORK
Ever since the horrors of World War Il, the world has attempted to prevent, even in wartime, the morally unconscionable: the purposeful killing of noncombatants, the decimation of civilian property, the denial of humanitarian assistance. Netanyahu's Israel, abetted by two American adminis-trations, has likely committed hundreds, maybe thousands, of war crimes in Gaza, brazenly defying the body of law that, however imperfectly applied over the decades, aimed to protect the sanctity of human life. An era of unchecked brutality has emerged in its place.
