I attended two great events at the @MuseumOfVan.bsky.social last week. The first was the MOV’s Austerity Tour - highlighting how decades of funding stagnation has affected the museum. Ryan Hunt (CEO) spoke candidly about their struggles and strategies.

Happy Little Shop of Horrors day! (Movie version, anyway. The stage show uses September 21.) As you may have guessed by my choice of puppet, I’m a big fan 😄 These are the “don’t feed the plants” stickers I handed out at the Mission Ren Faire.

The image is of a four panel comic.
In the first panel we see Sarah, the protagonist, next to a stick figure labeled “AI”. The stick figure says, “my outputs look just like yours now.”
The second panel zooms in on Sarah’s face. Above her we see text reading “I think”.
The third panel zooms in closer on Sarah’s face. Text above her reads “you missed”.
The fourth panel shows Sarah drawing happily in a sunlit room. The text above her reads “the point”.

Sometimes I browse through heritage auctions and I find the occasional odd gem, but today I stumbled upon the mother-load: these ridiculous grocery store ads promoting the release of The Jungle Book, and each one has me absolutely reeling. Sharing them here so you too can share in my bewildered joy

“That care for the dying will trigger the instant muscle memory of caring for small children” This was absolutely true for me. And oddly, it helped. “She can’t help it, but you can help her” went through my head so often during those final two weeks.
