NATO can't even defend their own governments of being taken over by pro-russian parties... I'm honestly not sure what we're supposed to do at this point because trump's USA is clearly not going to do anything about Article 5 should russia invade EU. And will likely stall any response by others.

Nah. I suspect that Musk and Trump destroyed USAID because it was an easy target, and USAID was helping Ukraine's civilians survive. Both Musk and Trump love russia and hate Ukraine. It also wouldn't surprise me if the instructions to destroy USAID came directly from the kremlin.

Possible reasons that I can think of for this: 1, "Monkey see monkey do". I doubt that this is it. 2, There's some push from the kremlin to make the trump admin act in such a way, because if USA starts acting exactly like russia, that means russia can point at USA as "they can do it so can we".

It's way worse than that. USA won't do anything with trump in charge, and would instead sabotage and blame EU. Elections in France and UK will be pivotal, as those are the last two remaining nuclear NATO states opposed to russia. If RN and/or Reform UK win, it's pretty much game over for NATO and EU

The only reason why trump's USA is "renewing" the push is that the need something for the midterms to prop up the disastrous policies of the trump admin. None of these "talks" will be pro-Ukrainian as russia sees no reason to compromise with trump on their side, giving zero aid and sales to Ukraine.
