I think that polling error is going to be off the charts *and* that the net generic ballot result will be super misleading anyway because turnout differential will be uneven by state/district (ie Ds will do much better in safe D/R areas), which could still average out to D+6/7/8/9.

If you're a Dem who thinks you'll gain something by going anti-trans, look at Gallup's "most important problem" and Fox News' "most important issue" polling and see where trans issues rank. Whoever told you going anti-trans is a savvy or necessary move spends too much time on X and should be fired.

It's truly impossible to find much good info on any Chicago elections. City council elections are coming up early next year and it's like pulling teeth to even find crumbs of information. IL-7's house primary earlier this year didn't even get polled.

A big question in Imperial studies is why older empires seem more stable and longer lasting than modern ones (e.g. Ottoman Empire - 800 years, USSR - 50 years). There are many answers, but IMO the big one is that older empires lacked the state capacity to interfere in everyday life.

I think my personal aversion to ODS is that it seems that it would likely lead to some kind of ultra-corrupt ethnic/religious based power sharing arrangement like in Nigeria, Lebanon, Bosnia, or Iraq. An improvement over the current genocidal fascist regime to be sure, but that's such a low bar.
