Gonna level with you bro I think DHS needs to be dissolved after this. Regardless of what national security functions fall under its remit, it's clearly institutionally constructed in such a way allows it to be used as an unaccountable tool of executive power. Can't reform your way out of that.

New in PN: Judge rules that anti-woke is just racism “'I’ve never seen a record where racial discrimination was so palpable,' Judge Young fumed. 'I’ve sat on this bench now for 40 years. I’ve never seen government racial discrimination like this.' *More of this, please*"

Can report a strong turnout at our local No Kings rally. Lots of American flag waving and supportive horn honking. Many homemade signs, some indignant, some witty. One that seemed particularly McLean appropriate: “If only Kamala had won, we’d all be at brunch.”

The Trump administration — and the red-state governors clinging to its coattails — aren’t just nervous. They’re terrified. Terrified of the one force they can’t control: the people. They’ve watched, helpless, as more Americans grow tired of the gaslighting, the lies, and the open flirtation...1/4

The lack of total outrage at the indictment of Congresswoman McIvey is truly frightening. Hakeem Jeffries ought to be causing high holy hell over this. She is indicted because she is Black. Half of the GOP caucus engaged in sedition and Garland felt arresting a member of congress went too far.

Indeed, this is not the first time ugliness and hatred have raised their vile heads in America. What is also true is that generations of Americans have risen to the occasion and spoken against injustices. Now, it's time to do it again for our nation and all its inhabitants. #OnYourSide #NoKings

This country is unrecognizable and run by corrupt, incompetent, racist bootlicking Republicans. The president is both unhinged and unfit to lead. If we don’t stop this authoritarian regime, America is doomed. Don’t let them win ~ speak out against this tyrannical insanity. NO KINGS in AMERICA‼️
It's a masterclass in WHITE PRIVILEGE

Trump can't say enough racist things to be a racist.
He can't commit enough crimes to be a criminal.
He can't fail enough times to be a failure.
He can't say enough stupid things to be stupid.
The idea of him overshadows any reality.
The "Christian Savior" who doesn't know the bible.
The adulterer who fucks a porn star and steals from charities.
It's the promise of the protection of whiteness
Trump represents.
Welcome to fucking reality in America.

I don't think anyone outside of universities, pharma and biotech, independent research institutions have any idea of what is happening right now. If you haven't sounded the alarm among your friends, family and colleagues, now is the time to do it.
quote on a dark blue and purple background from Sudip S. Parikh, CEO of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), criticizing proposed cuts to science funding in the FY26 U.S. federal budget. The quote reads:

“If enacted, the FY26 budget request would end America’s global scientific leadership. The cuts to science would imperil our nation’s future health, security and prosperity. This budget proposal stands in stark contrast to the President’s call for a renewed commitment to American scientific leadership. Congress has demonstrated a bipartisan commitment to investment in research and must do so again to answer the President’s call.”
The quote is attributed to Sudip S. Parikh, CEO of AAAS and Executive Publisher of the Science family of journals. The AAAS logo appears at the bottom right.
