iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

About the only reason I'm still trying is there's an unfixed exploit with the bags that makes some of the grindiness easier.

000

There have been completely game-breaking bugs for some people, and I've lost hours of progress because there's no unstuck button.

100

And even though it's bigger and the ambiance IS nice, the world feels more isolated because there are far fewer actual characters, and the ones that are there you don't actually interact with that much. They all go silent midway in. And the charming macabre humor just isn't there.

100

I really loved the original, even though it did have a lot of badly-integrated elements and tons of loose ends in both progression and writing. The balance on this one is just horrendous, there are upgrades that don't actually do anything, and evidence of unimplemented features everywhere.

I could see myself replaying the first one again, but I don't think I'm ever coming back to this slog again even if I do finish it. They introduce a few new ideas that are neat, but really didn't learn anything from the first one's flaws, and made some of them considerably worse.

000

I was excited to see it at first, but Graveyard Keeper 2 is bumming me out now. I don't know if I'm even going to finish it. It looked interesting and promising at first, but I've hit a point that is somehow both immensely grindy and very empty. Balance problems and dead-ends everywhere.

Oh my gosh, yes, bring back web-rings. This is how I found nearly all of the comics I followed in the aughts

I wish the church I came from would put out something more substantially good than milquetoast "respect each other and find compromise" statements that ultimately don't challenge anything, let alone identify where abuses actually stem from.

Not bad for a bunch of pointy-ears 😉

I only got to play it briefly on my brother's Playstation, but it did leave an impression

I've been trying to remember the name of Dark Cloud based on vague memories for ages, and seeing the logo here just unlocked it. I gotta track it down now

They made this machine. The machine that they made is doing these things. They need to be held responsible for making a machine that does these things.

It is so corrosive of absolutely everything. I cannot believe how pervasive it's gotten.

Severely underestimating how trivially easy it will be to add "pervagotchi" to our vocabs right next to "perv glasses"

Never trust the engineering of anyone who actually thinks they're too good for this world. 😉 That's wisdom for life, right there

It's been rainy for weeks and now a dry wind is kicking up all that fall mold, I'm dying 😭🤧

Doesn't matter how tall the tallfolk are, they all crash down when you take them out at the knees. Why else do you think we have axes? 😉

Thanks for sharing the lovely drawing!

Oh that looks beautifully dynamic and crisp

Sooooo, what is your favorite pen?

@middleearth.quest it's like a hundred-and-eleventh birthday, only somehow both bigger and younger. Congrats on hitting 555! It's been a great start so far.

A small screen grab from the @middleearth.quest labler that shows it has 555 likes

Oh I really like that one

There is something very fun about her face and head shape, it looks like you put a lot of thought into the structure

Dang, that really REALLY sucks. 😥

000

I was going to ask what it never forgets but

Sometimes. Sometimes I don't realize I'm hungry until I'm feeling generally physically unbalanced everywhere else.

I have a question, Is there a rhyme or reason to the type of battlefield mentioned in the skirmish challenge announcements, and if so, does it have any bearing on how the battle runs?

Yeah, for sure it has huge flaws. Individual parts of it are great but others are threadbare and unfinished, all the stitching is loose and sloppy. I do still love the parts that are good though.

000

There's a Graveyard Keeper Twooooooooooo I'll be the first to admit the first game was very flawed, and felt incomplete even with several expensive DLCs. But dang if the core loop and lightly macabre weirdness didn't scratch the folds of my brain like it was made specifically for me.

Send me a DM and I'll get you the invite link

Aww, that bites. Glad to have you with us anyway!

Speaking of the Dwarf groupchat, I see that @summerlee.xyz @maybeitsme.bsky.social and @sarriane.bsky.social seem to be active item-wise but aren't in the chat. Would any of you be interested in joining? It's pretty active in there and we'd love to have you join in.

We Dwarves got our schist together

When you do all get your group together, I am assembling a War Counsel of the Free Peoples for the leaders to share info and coordinate larger efforts. I think I know a couple of ways we can help each other out. Please have your leader or representative send me a DM!

It often means your own needs for care and attention always come last, if ever at all.

Being in a chat why my group has absolutely made this game a ton more fun, I highly recommend it
