Lived in Scottsdale for a bit without a car. Waiting at bus stops in 112 degree weather was definitely not my fave. Curious how other desert cities keep people, esp elderly and kids, safe from heat stroke while they're waiting for busses or trains.

There's a lot of very valid critique of the new KC Metro bus routes in North Seattle, going on. But purely 100% selfishly, my gosh, I gotta say, it is sooo nice to be able to get to a pharmacy in less than 20 minutes now, on just 1 single bus route (no transfers!), from my apartment building.

Saa similiar thing happened yesterday on the 45. Standing people wouldnt move up or at least move away from the door. People couldnt get on or off bc they were in the way, but there was plenty of standing room(even a few open seats) on the rest of the entire bus. Wth.

WA Apple Health continues to amaze me!! Someone can sign up on a Saturday & by Mon. night, have active coverage, have seen a dr., (fully covered), & an Rx on its way to a pharmacy, all in under 48 hrs! Not to be too dramatic, but.. when cost is a huge barrier to access care...this is life saving! 😻

And, fun fact, marriage age was raised to 17 for girls only 6 years ago, in 2019, in AR. Prior to that, it was 16 for girls in the state (17 for boys?), unless a girl was pregnant...in which case, no minimum age limit at all for girls to be married... just needed a judge's signature.

In 2021, I was debating moving back to SE Michigan and this was a big reason why I didn't... Rents equivalent to Seattle's, but without Seattle's minimum wage? I love and miss fireflies, but...no thanks! No idea how folks in A2 and Ypsilanti are surviving, esp now with costs even higher. Ugh!
