Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave announced dlc story paths for the other four clan leaders of the heroic games! Personally, I think they should commit to the bit of giving Bertrand months of free time each chapter -- except he can't go anywhere because he's in prison.
an edited screenshot of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave showing Bertrand in the prison below the colosseum in Dagda, with the notice that Free Time has begun with 204 turns left until the next main match, starting on the 1st of the month of Seftim. Lots to do!

A wild notion I’m sure, but hearing fighter jets zoom over SF during fleet week is giving off an uncomfortable pairing with the President of my own country gleefully putting out the idea of our coastal cities getting bombed.

It's Brian Altano's last day at IGN today, and while I don't doubt that most people here already know him through his podcast appearance and all of the hosting he does, I wanted to share this lets play series for Linked Together that I worked on with him and Zach www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Jg4...

Birthday level ups hit different when your growth rate sucks.
a modified image from Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, showing myself (played by Buccar) achieving level 39 (my current age), while only gaining a point in dexterity and defense. The character's reaction to this dogshit level up being "I don't want to get old." Same, Buccar.

I have a fond memory burned into me playing Phantom Menace on PC with my friend, defeating Darth Maul but then accidentally falling into the pit, leading to a Game Over screen overlayed above the pit, while Qui-Gon groaned in agony over and over waiting for someone to interact with him.

I put a game that came out this year, and one that's still being actively developed because you shouldn't be afraid to let new experiences continue to shape who you are 🧠
my 9 games that shaped (and continue to shape) who I am:
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Myst
Dungeon Keeper 2
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Me complaining to my friend: “it would be so much easier if he liked every variant of this gift type the same, but no, of course he likes “Jade Ghosh” more. I hate him. Friend: “Isn’t that… exactly how you react to Mountain Dew Baja Blast?” Me: “…. God dammit. I get it now.”

So there's 120 gifts in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, and spread across 60 characters, trying to catalogue their reactions to each for our guide may just kill me. Currently making Cai try every flavor of "Ghosh" and it feels a lot like this.
a mockup of a fake Youtube thumbnail in the style of "trying every flavor of (blank)!" The title of the video is "We Tried EVERY Flavor of Ghosh!!" featuring some photoshopped bottles of kombucha, and Cai and Eshmel making youtuber reaction faces in the corner. I hate it here.

There's definitely moments where an event happens that your current character only hears about in passing that you could swap over to see it actually unfold, but I found it easier to just play through part 1 or even 2 before swapping.

The only thing missing in the Resident Evil movie was the main character having to call his girlfriend (chat) to be reminded of what he was supposed to be doing because he got distracted during the most recent exposition scene. Great movie, very funny and gross.

Honestly, Engage was way closer to the classics than 3H/FW, but everyone passed on it because of the vibes.

#11 - Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave
Leda, one of the protagonists of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, being completely normal in her quest for revenge telling a fellow competitor in the Heroic Games (a young boy named Cai) "Hahaha! Please forgive me. I think I'm going to be a little bit cruel today."

Yeah I published that section last night when I noticed the scene viewer listed the S ranks I had available. You have to beat the last mission to be able to see that scene and it’s too time-consuming for me to check, but the one I got was “implied” romance but I could see platonic working too.

I never felt the need since FW builds far more heavily from 3H, given Engage was a different team (they still iterate off its gauge mechanic that I love). I like that we can different have fire emblems that lean more into social management or deeper strategy… and goofy lookin protags.

"Gamers discovering I actually have elite ball knowledge" will always be my favorite genre of post lmao But really, it's been very heartwarming to see all the positive feedback from my post-review interview with the amazing @brazyazn.bsky.social, I'm glad it came across well!
A screencapped quote from a user on twitter, whose first post is:
"I can't wait to watch IGN's review where the reviewer reclasses Fabio to an assassin and say 'you should be careful though, all of these maps we're strangely difficult"
They quoted the post with and update:
"Wait so the IGN reviewer who gave Fortune's Weave a 10/10 said he's been playing the series for 10 years and his favorite game was Path of Radiance!?!?"

Totally. At this point there are many flavors (some like this have more social/time management) but the difficulty starts out approachable and ramps up by the end of the first part (and you can time rewind all your mistakes!)

I think it makes the most sense to play a good portion if not all of one character's Part 1 (and even Part 2) before swapping around unless you're particularly curious. Cai felt like the most beginner friendly to start with.

Supports are on-brand, but more focused on the people around the main heroes and a bit less on the gaggle of mercs you can hire. Maybe because of that there's less focus on romance since your player character takes a back seat in a bird disguise half the game, but there are "paired" endings.

Early on when I started at IGN I made a really dumb goofy video and the top comment was “Did Altano make this?” and I’ve kinda held onto that praise ever since. I count myself extremely lucky I got work with Brian. One of the best, funniest, and most talented to ever do it.

We are tired of posting statements like these.
Today was an awful day at IGN. We were blindsided by the layoff of four union members and many more people across the organization who contributed years of their careers to making IGN an unparalleled voice in games and entertainment.

With each successive layoff, core parts of IGN’s operation continue to be stripped away. Today, IGN has decided to do away with many of our talented producers, editors, hosts, and other crucial roles, both within and out of the union. How many layoffs will occur before we no longer recognize the company we work for and the content that we make?

While we recognize the challenges the media industry is facing as a whole, it is difficult to understand how laying off valuable employees better positions us to meet those challenges. In turn, remaining employees bear additional workloads worsened by anxiety over the ever-looming threat of another layoff.

We are devastated, angry, and heartbroken for our colleagues.
