Got a weird hit of gender euphoria yesterday... Picking up the kitten I adopted, the woman helping me out made sure to mention that her colleague should "wait until I'm alone, then you can head out." She turns to me, "I'm sure you're nice but..." Rocks and sucks being so flawlessly assumed male.

I moved to a small town in the summer of 2024, and immediately bought a 10 ride bus pass. Haven't looked up the relative square footage, but the whole town feels smaller than the suburb I grew up in, so I end up walking a lot. Asked the bus driver yesterday and apparently I still have 5 rides left.

My OG sourdough starter, Bessie, definitely has some 'neglect tolerance' traits... Transferred her into a pickle jar that I hadn't washed well enough, and had to revive the 4-days-unfed jar of discard when I realized my mistake. Doubling and bubbling again after a few days of care.

Finally made some meat to accompany the sourdough. Honey oat bread with roast beef and parsnips ft. @tastinghistory.bsky.social The portions could probably use some adjusting... I used half the beef (2 lbs) and more parsnip than called for, but I don't think this bowl has 12 servings of veggies.
