One year ago today my second poetry collection found love and acceptance at her perfect home: Parlyaree Press! This is an unusual collection and I scoured the indie scene to find the right fit. I couldn’t be happier with the opportunity and attention Andrew Baker and his team have given this little weirdo collection of autobiographical EDM poems and shorts about my previous life as an international party girl.

Thump 16: Where the Monarchs Never Die by Rocío Franco Press: Arcana Press Favorite Poem: Where the Monarchs Never Die Three things I loved: 1. The storytelling moving between locations in Mexico and the city of Chicago was very effective in imagery of place. 2. The use of Spanish words and phrases in the collection was thoughtful and personal. I was surprised to find I could understand everything Rocío wrote, though I am only literate in English, and this helped me also understand her.
