Dolly Parton's business sense is not the only reason why she had such longevity as an artist and public figure, but it's a really important one. She was a brilliant songwriter who respected and admired her fellow artists but she also refused to let anyone take advantage of her.

Don't buy ANY story about Paramount leaving LA. It's all chest-thumping, billionaire cry baby bullshit. Or, as a friend at Pmt put it, "The trades carry this water w/o question b/c it gets clicks. Ellison just moved everyone back to the lot, as he wants to buy a 2nd one. It's BS." bit.ly/4ynRXS3

I just need us all to acknowledge for a moment how fucking surreal FUCKING ALL OF THIS IS. Like 20 yrs from now we’re still gonna talk about tonight like how we talk about Super Bowls and playoffs. Remember when we were all watching the President’s name taken down from a building it shouldn’t be on?

Elon Musk just became the world's first trillionaire. The typical American household would have to work more than 11 MILLION years to make Elon Musk's level of wealth. We need a wealth tax.

I forgot to give an update on this. Pitch was rescheduled from the 21st to the following week and then the day before, completely canceled. I won’t go too much into it, but needless to say I was pretty devastated since I had spent so much time working on it. The good news… 🧵#scriptsky

Update # who knows… but this pitch has been set for Oct 21st! I broke a bone in my hand last weekend so I can’t type well. Most of the pitch is done, just making slight changes as I practice & doing voice to text. Here’s generally what I do when getting a pitch ready 🧵 #scriptsky #filmsky

It’s a good thing I finished this rewrite a couple of weeks ago and did another pass on it since then. Now it’s to my agents for their review. Because I fell over the weekend in a random accident and broke my hand 😣😣 #scriptsky

Since I finished this draft today, I thought I'd write up a timeline of events for how this script came together. -End of Feb, my team started sending out my feature NINE LIVES. -By mid-March, we began hearing back from companies to set general meetings. #scriptsky 🧵

I'm on p70 of my current feature WIP, and I'm aiming to have the first draft completed by Tuesday. It's a grounded sci-fi thriller, RIPPLE. Will update this with my progress over the long weekend! #scriptsky

I’m in! Here’s p33 of my feature, NINE LIVES. A security guard with a violent past uses her skills to save a cat with an implanted chip worth $100 million from a crew of misfit mercenaries. #scriptsky #ThirdPageThursday This fight/kill scene raises the stakes & gets us into an all out war!

UPDATE #4: found out that the prod comp is going in a different direction for this book adaptation so mtg #3 was canceled 🫤 The whiplash in this industry can be alarming sometimes but gotta keep showing up and doing the work. Hoping to have my current feature WIP ✅ by next week! #scriptsky

I would also mention that your core idea needs to stand out. You may have an amazing script but if your idea is mid, too niche, or confusing, it will be hard to break through and catch attention from reps. #scriptsky

UPDATE #3 RE: Feature book adaptation - a follow-up mtg is set for next week! The 1st mtg was a general that turned into the exec asking if I'd be interested in the material (they loved my sample feature & voice). Mtg #2, we discussed my take. Fingers 🤞🤞 for a successful mtg #3! #scriptsky
