It was a very good news day for The Lost Saint which made The Listener Top 50 Kids Books for 2025 list. ‘Schools out, hormones are hot!’ Which is very encouraging as I am wrapping up Bk 2 and happy to report that the ‘mix of fantasy, romance, history and religion’ is still quite ‘brutal and heady’.

This is disappointing. What a narrow and boring attitude. I’ve never seen the appeal in abandoning wonder as though grim realism is the only worthy art. The ability to enable readers to suspend disbelief and step into elsewhere is a gift.
