Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Wildfires & drought combined with massive decline in insects numbers at a guess. (Plus of course they still love catching/hunting so many species over that way). 111
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Safe to say our lemon tree has enjoyed the hot summer even if I didn't! 050
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Reform lost all 6 council by-elections yesterday. Just in case you needed cheering up like. 071
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Loads of small coppers, ground nesting bees, crane flies etc in the meadow today, good to see. #Suffolk 030
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 19/09/2026The ground under one of our oak trees is full of enormous blue staining boletes, they are properly heavy! 020
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 19/09/2026My admin just got an email from one of my singers where the entire body of text was in the subject line, and it said Dear R please can you send emails to my inbox and not my junk folder, many thanks S. Time and again he’s showing us exactly who he is. 2101926738

Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Heard this on the World Service at lunchtime, absolutely fascinating interview of a delightful Sierra Leonian woman who grew up in the civil war, and a fascination with Chinese Opera led to an incredible life of bonkers talents. Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Toadflax arrived in our meadow by itself, always super happy to find a new native species has appeared. It's like a teeny two fingers up to all those destroying nature elsewhere. It is covered in bees and shield bugs. #WildflowerHour 1283

Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Our chickens were always getting in and being shooed out but the biggest mess was when our goat Poppy wandered in and started testing everything she could for edibility! 040
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Wasp spider in the meadow! V cool and very fast and aggressive! I love how they weave a big near invisible web but deliberately create a more solid white zig zag up the middle of it. 020
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Aw come on, I'm a climate protestor and her name has always been funny! 000
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 28/08/20264 months in to our Suffolk Reform run council and they are already have to call a by-election, turns out to be harder work than they thought running a council & some of them aren't really up for it after all. I really hope it was the endless complaints about bins that did them in 😆 031
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I'm sorry that sounds extremely unfair, my daughter has chosen not to find her birth mother but she at least would be allowed to here in the UK! Hope your birthday was lovely anyway. 010
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 25/08/2026Dolly. What a legend. Gutted. Someone who used her wealth to make real positive difference wherever she could. She'll leave a massive legacy. Watch & learn billionaires/Trillionaires, watch & learn. 031
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 14/08/2026The small Tivat ex-pat community that Cottrell is part of definitely has Russian connections because my dodgy brother & his Russian wife & in-laws are part of it too! 060
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Oh man this is making me sad, yet another mole has died due to the drought & rock hard ground. This one made it to one of the sumps in the groundwater fed wildlife pond, but there's been no water there for a month now. Small lives being lost everywhere ☹️ 031
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Ok its apparently real & just this once I’m going to say that a plane journey was legitimately worth it 😆 041
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 09/08/2026What a spiteful load of nonsense. The shooting fraternity really have their claws in to folk who are managing land for nature & biodiversity rather than profit & killing. Reminder that the biggest ever wildfire in Scotland was on a highly managed grouse moor in Darva. #rewilding 041
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 08/08/2026The saplings we got from the Woodland Trust were probably the tiniest & most feeble of all the suppliers we tried and we lost hundreds in the drought of 2022. Some of the survivors are doing OK with no watering though, maybe drought hardened by that baptism of fire! 010
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Yeah heard about this last week on the Breaking Down Collapse podcast. Absolutely grim. 020

Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 03/08/2026Quite tempted to put in a trench across what must be an old ditch line, Time team style. The only green grass around.. 020
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 30/07/2026No, it's a heath. And not somewhere pyromaniac teenagers would be hanging out. In current conditions the hot underside of a vehicle sitting on dried grass can start a fire here, as can a cigarette butt, a discarded glass bottle focussing sunlight. In normal conditions you'd just stamp it out. 010
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 30/07/2026A lot of people keen to blame deliberate arson for wildfires forget just how stupid a lot of people are. As if firefighters needed any other work a local moron decided to have a bonfire last night which set his grass alight spreading out of control to his garden fast 🙄 #wildfire 031
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 30/07/2026And I have a flint striker for starting fires, it's not difficult, you just need very dry small material to carry the spark. A BBQ doesn't sound like the ideal starter material! 100
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 30/07/2026We have a lot of flint in our soil, it sparks when struck by farm machinery & in our current conditions starts a fire in wheat chaff/dried crops VERY easily. Farmers are having to follow combines with water bowsers but they aren't always enough to stop the fire. 220
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 30/07/2026Actually stupidity is the most likely cause, with climate change giving it the fuel to spread out of control. We also had a crew out to a local moron who decided to have a garden bonfire, which immediately set his grass and then garden alight. Flint strikes are our other main cause here. 120
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Oh no, Dunwich Heath wildlife reserve is on fire, right next to Minsmere bird reserve too. 14 crews out & people evacuated. This is horrendous. Views from Sizewell & Eels Foot #Suffolk #Wildfire 23419
Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Rubbish pic but fairly sure this is a Six-belted clearwing moth I spotted in our meadow yesterday. Quite rare for #Suffolk apparently. #suffolkwildlife 020

Kirsty @rabblechorus.bsky.social · 24/07/2026But we wouldn't be able to lock our tandem or my cargo bike with trailer there unless all along it at 90% stopping anyone else from locking up. It's incredibly frustrating trying to find spaces to lock either. 010
