well i’m halfway through the book and my one regret is not starting it with a pen and paper in hand to take notes 😄 and kudos to the printing press, it managed to handle a bit of british rain without any problems

What if it’s the case that someone wants to break into the industry? Would going at least with the Friday only ticket he a good way to get your foot in the door and meet up with people in the business?

time to upgrade and buy a NAS

you’re going to be amazing, i just know it 🥹

i think the main concern would be storage and managing the blobs, videos can get extremely large compared to code otherwise there is git LFS for large files and is used plenty in game dev, but im not sure it serves the exact purpose you’re looking for

Ra'ad ⚡ رعد @raadaldakhil.com · 20/11/2024

is this gonna be a bsky speedrun record 🤔

i wonder when drafts are going to be in the pipeline, it’s the only major feature i think is missing

000

after a couple of years of barely any social media use, i’m realising that posting more regularly again is like working out an atrophied muscle, but if i’m going to start again i’m glad it’s on a better platform like bluesky

although the ~4.5TB needed space might be difficult for anyone without a few spare hard drives/NAS laying around

if you wanted an excuse to try out self-hosting maybe doing it with bluesky is a good start

Since people have been asking, I've created a "Background Radiation" Games Industry Starter Pack! The goal is a pack that gives you a good horizontal overview of the games industry and its surrounding fields - and the conversations happening there. go.bsky.app/RxQCsKS

I’ve been hearing a lot about them the last few years, maybe I’ll bite the bullet and finally get myself one now 🤔

started off as just a few docker containers on a laptop and it grew and shrunk over the last decade till reached its current form, always good to start it small and see what you want to keep exploring 👌🏽

As someone trying to trying to break into the industry, this is the exact kind of “industry pulse” I was looking for. The last nail in the X/Twitter coffin (among many other things)
