I am doing a lil' hangout for Fafnir's nameday! It'll be at my fc house on Maduin. Bring your favorite minion and expect to be asked questions about them 😂 Come say hi, don't feel pressured to stay the whole time 💖

A picture of Fafnir, a Raen Au Ra, in the Galatea attire dyed bright red. They are sitting on the beach with a boba drink in hand.

The following white text is in a semi-transparent red box: "Fafnir Nameday Party."

The following white text is in a semi-transparent orange box: "Saturday, October 10
12 pm pst - 2 pm

Maduin, Dynamis
Shirogane 1st Ward, Subdivision
Plot 38

Bring your favorite minion!"

FINAL FANTASY XIV @en.finalfantasyxiv.com · 08/10/2026

A bear-y grisly celebration is on its way. 🐻 All Saints' Wake returns to FFXIV on Thursday, October 15! 👻 sqex.to/p39ox

Image is the key illustration for the All Saints' Wake 2026 event. A large figure in a full-body bear costume with exaggerated stitching and button embellishments looms ominously in the back with its mouth open wide and tongue sticking out. They are holding a pipe in one hand and green smoke emanates from around their head. In front of them to the left is Leofard, who is looking up at the bear and grinning while shrugging his shoulders. To the right Cait Sith looks back at the bear figure with a scared expression, front paws sticking out and tail raised in fear. The background of the illustration is decorated with carved pumpkins and small ghosts.

Oh that's so cool, I have something.

a picture of a sketchbook spread done in ink and markers. The image depicts a cabinet of curiosities: shelves showing a collection of weird little things including bones, jars with eyes, skulls and tiny people, some shelves are overgrown by nature, some have faces looking through. There is also a cat sleeping on one, and a Rain World reference tucked in :)

last year's kinktober/all saints wake fic is, perhaps inadvisably, now on ao3. please mind the tags, no hard feelings for skipping this one, because it's a lot. (content label for nsfw text/tags) Swell [npc/oc/other, 7.6k words, explicit] 😈 archiveofourown.org/works/93869001

ao3 screenshot for Swell. Summary: The Carpenters' Guild is meant to be inspecting the Haunted Manor prior to the All Saints' Wake festivities, but Sylvien gets a little caught up in the spirit of the holiday, in more ways than one.

/ patch 7.56 spoilers a stray thought, a cherished bond #evercold #ffxiv #art #ffxivart

Illustration of the person resembling Ysayle that shows up in a flash during patch 7.56 of Final Fantasy XIV. They have their eyes closed and a serene expression, with their hair flowing into the wind. The background is a blue sky and, at the bottom, a sea of clouds permeates it. The texture of the piece is made to callback to weaving, with it either slowly falling apart or reassembling at the seams.

I compiled a list of my best/personal faves from ffxiv write! If you only have the chance to read a few, or don't want to trudge through the entire list, I'd ask you to check these out! (Links in thread) #ffxivwrite #ffxivwrite2026

Kiah'a, a Keeper mooncat, stands on the left while Fafnir, a Raen Au Ra, sits on the right. The text "Xiao's FFXIV Write" is in white text in a mostly transparent purple box in the center with "HIGHLIGHTS" stamped over the bottom of the box in bright yellow.

2 — Register. Pre-ARR, ~1,000 words.

Coeurlclaw angst abounds in this one as we learn what happens when someone gives birth to a boy. Featuring an entire cast of Keeper OCs. There will be a quiz.

CW: Implied infanticide, implied abuse (physical and emotional), discussion of a dead infant, brief suicidal ideation.

5 — Preservation. Post-game, ~1,300 words.

Written in the style of a report detailing artifacts found in the Swallow's Compass long after Fafnir has passed. One of my favorite styles for a piece of fiction, and where I at one point had five different tabs up researching for this.

Mentions of Hien/Fafnir and Haurchefant/Fafnir.

8 — Strain. Pre-ARR, ~1,700 words.

Have you ever wanted an insight into Fafnir's life back in Doma? Now you can read at least 1.7k about it! But really, getting to write a some small fishing village dynamics and innocent toddler Fafnir was great.

CW: Brief description of a child almost drowning (the child is completely fine).

18 — Reason. 7.0, ~950 words.

Consider this a 'missing scene' for Kiah'a's MSQ. I just think we should have been allowed to talk to Koana after his father died and had an actual conversation about it. Koana/Kiah'a.

21 — Better Late Than Never. 7.0+, ~2,800 words.

My longest entry, but by god did I pop off on this one. Sometime after the Coeurlclaw aunties move to Gridania, Kiah'a comes to visit his mother and little sister. Sunny is less than impressed with him.

CW: God's most uncomfortable family interactions.

22 — Train. 1870s AU, ~1,700 words.

Funny how both my Koana fics made it onto this list, but I had a ton of fun with this one and have to blab about it. The 'Wild West' period is one of my favorites in US history and it fits Koana so well. He gets to be stationmaster while Kiah'a (and the Scions) are bounty hunters. Just read it for me.

Koana/Kiah'a.

23 — Egress. 4.0+, ~1,800 words.

I've wanted to write more Haurchefant lives AU and I finally was struck with inspiration here. Haurchefant muses on Camp Dragonhead as he prepares to join Fafnir on his adventures.

Haurchefant/Fafnir.

24 — Drift. Pacific Rim AU, ~1,600 words. NSFW.

It's a Pacific Rim AU, what else do you need? (Fafnir and Haurchefant fight a kaiju and have a good time afterwards).

Haurchefant/Fafnir.

home depot date. (he came here for one thing and by Byregot he is going to wait for it.)

A colored sketch of modern au Sylvien and Beatin. They are standing behind an orange metal accordion gate, waiting for the aisle to open again. Beatin has his hands on his hips, prepared to wait for the saw blade he came here for (depicted as a real photo in his thought bubble) while Sylvien hangs off his arm, looking a little uncomfortable, hesitantly pointing off to the side and suggesting they maybe take a look at some flowers in the meantime.

#veiledwind Thane is min height miqo and privately has a lot of fun defying expectations of how a WoL and a swordsman "should" look like; Bras is taller than average (he's 65-ish on the slider) and doesn't really have an opinion on it.
