I've tried to explain this to some people who take my criticisms of media very personally, and it's hard, I get that, but: I don't break down the media I'm into because I think I'm superior or I think badly of people who love the thing. It's just how I enjoy engaging with a thing. Mostly, hehehe.

I think there's a lot to be said for reserving one's hate for things that are particularly heinous. It makes the hate more potent, and then you can go all-in on it. As a treat!

I emailed Younger Child's teacher about how he's doing in math class, the response was pretty positive, but the first sentence of the email: "He's definitely his own person😊!" Raising neurodivergent children is definitely a whole thing!

"Democrats aren't abandoning trans people! Maybe just one or two..." Here's every Democrat who's either voted to strip human rights away from trans people and/or has campaigned on anti-trans propaganda in the last year.

People are on here talking wild reckless to trans people. And it is very annoying because trans people have done everything they needed to do. They educated the public about candidates who were against civil rights. They pointed people towards viable alternatives. They came through in primaries.

Interesting, I grew up in Appalachia, where small creeks will often rise very quickly and impede travel or cause significant harm, and that's not at all how that phrase is used. Not to say I didn't here other anti-indigenous phrases, mind you, that just wasn't one of them.

If you don't understand something - for example, abuse, assault, trauma responses, how survivors respond, how abusers operate in the world - it's always an option to be quiet and listen to people who do understand.

Don't give pieces of your soul over to something that the creators of can't even verbalize the final purpose of. It's not worth it. It's not worth the supposed "productivity" or the ability to keep up with others who have bought in. You won't fall behind, and you'll keep your head clear.

time you realize it's happened to you, there's a really good chance that you're going to spend *years* of your life grappling with the harm that you did from moving away from your values. There will be harm that can't be undone. It's that serious. And that's just one of many horrible issues here.

These words aren't empty for me. I've lived in relationships where I was convinced to slowly shift off of my own moral center, my own ways of thinking. It felt reasonable to do at the time, and in retrospect, it's unforgiveable. I can see AI doing this to people I know and care about. And by the

Here is one of my fundamental problems with AI, and why I have a very strong stance against it. (Note, "one of" and not "the most important" or "the entire list".) There are a lot of patterns that happen in toxic and abusive relationships that mirror the ways AI works. The gushing flattery, the
