If I Were The Costume Designer For The Odyssey, Part III: I would have put Zendaya in one of these beards whenever she is playing Athena-disguised-as-Mentor.
In a still from the movie Monty Python’s Life of Brian, the crowd at the stoning is made up entirely of women wearing men’s robes and obviously false beards. The scene is further complicated by the fact that several of the “men” are played by male members of Monty Python, pretending to be women who are pretending to be men. The point is, no one is really fooled by the beards.

Many many thanks to @libbyapp.com and @ypsilibrary.org for a great year in reading, and to @thestorygraph.com for giving me a cool way to record and display it.
A pie chart shows what percentage of the books I read in 2025 came from each source. 79% are from Libby, 9% from Hoopla, 6% I owned (physical or digital), 5% are physical books checked out of the library, and there is an almost invisible sliver for the one book categorized as “borrowed.”

Kindle text:

"Hello there!" I call out to the man at the front desk, "I was just wondering if there's an extra charge for keeping a moped in my room." After looking over the hotel policy, I know very well that there isn't, but I'm trying to make a show of it anyway. The man behind the counter looks up to see me putter into the lobby on my perfectly normal moped, the long back half of which is entirely covered in hanging pool towels. "Is the vehicle sentient?" the man behind the counter questions. Ilaugh, knocking three times on the hard body of the moped below me. "This ol' girl? I wish!"

Kindle text:

The man behind the counter continues to look us over, his gaze eventually falling onto the towels covering Courtney's back. "That's a pretty long moped," he observes. I smile.
"And thank god! There were no towels in my room so I had to get some from the pool.
Don't worry, I'm still give you guys five stars when Ileave. I'm just glad I have a way to get all these towels up there in one trip with my incredibly long, not sentient vehicle that is also not half fish."

A bunch of random Ypsilanti stuff, including downtown Ypsi buildings, the “brick dick” water tower, a bomber, the EMU eagle mascot, the big yellow chair from riverside park, a person in a t-shirt that says I “heart” Ypsi (with an anatomical heart), an Ypsi hat, and holding a can that says Strawberry Blonde in one hand. In the other hand they are holding something I don’t recognize, that looks like a big pastry. At the very top in a very plain yellow sans serif font it says “Ypsilanti Mentioned.”

Michigan's new flag, according to us:
A new design for Michigan's flag: two maps of Michigan flank the werewolf creature from Michigan's I Voted sticker contest, which is presented in a circle in the center. In a trapezoid at the top of the flag, the opening crawl from The Empire Strikes Back is behind the wolf.
