A new species of felid has been classified, the first in over 100 years. 🐱 The Leopardus tilcayo lives in Bolivia’s Yungas forest ecoregion and is smaller than the average domestic cat, measuring around 46 cm from head to end of body and weighing about 1.4 kg.

Blue-eyed ground dove once thought to be extinct for 75 years rediscovered in Brazil in 2015. No confirmed sightings occurred between 1941 and 2015, scientists believed the species was completely gone. The IUCN Red List estimates only about 50 to 249 mature individuals remain in the wild today.
