Came across this unusual small #Beetle while out and about ,not sure what the two side appendages are......legs ? although I thought Beetle species only had three pairs .It was about 4mm in length ,but could leap like a Grasshopper. Any ideas please @ianbeavis.bsky.social #ukbeetles#insects

They definately go "cluck" when the sun dissappears ! the other area worth checking is about 4-500m further on (towards Dover) look for a seat tight to the bushes .......anywhere around there, normally good ,although none there yesterday, but best up from the golf club ......good luck !

The LTBlues are nearing their ends now ,The 5 that I found today were well worn ,curiously the survivors were still drawn to the Pea re-growth flowers ,ignoring other flowering plants for nectar source. The males were still feisty ,many aerial battles, amazed to find a single late ova. #Butterflies

Yes I thought it probably was ,I photographed one from the Dengemarsh hide a few months back. I think its a hybrid of some description as opposed to a colour variant.

A new species of felid has been classified, the first in over 100 years. 🐱 The Leopardus tilcayo lives in Bolivia’s Yungas forest ecoregion and is smaller than the average domestic cat, measuring around 46 cm from head to end of body and weighing about 1.4 kg.
