I think we can appreciate #corybooker taking a stand without turning him into a hero. Yes, it was an commendable step, plus he broke the record held by a racist yt guy. But be clear on why he did it: "our constituents are asking us" Folks calling, showing at #townhall did this. Keep the pressure on.

I am sitting with this quote tonight from @prisonculture.bsky.social thinking about the interconnected of systems and methods of oppression. As kids in fundamentalism, we were regularly taught to both "other" and label "criminal" those who stood in the way of the holy war. It's front & center rn.

I've been caught up in a lot of feelings as anti #trans laws are pushed through. Expected, yet sucker punches every time. I keep thinking of Sylvia Rivera's words at the 2001 rally for homeless youth: "Don't they realize these [trans, gay] children have suffered enough?" #protecttranskids #transkids
