Global diesel prices will skyrocket and the glut of diesel domestically would just sit in storage at export terminals, disconnected from the domestic market. Retaliation bans from countries like Canada will cut diesel feedstock leading to higher domestic prices.

None of this would lower our domestic prices and instead our prices for diesel and other oil products would likely increase as production gets cut. Never mind the fact that we import a lot of diesel feedstock from Canada who would retaliate with an export ban of their own.

Oil companies won't sell the diesel domestically. They would just store the diesel at export terminals, disconnected from domestic terminals, and wait the ban out. They would also cut production to compensate for the demand destruction.

Some polls use landlines but others don't. Also there tends to be a slight bias in GOP's favor among registered voters vs. Likely voters and historically (though that might have flipped in recent years) midterm electorates slightly favored GOP over democrats.

One poll is just a snapshot in time but that is exactly what I said about the sub-40 poll earlier this year and then the polling average kept dropping through the 30s. So, we have to wait for more polls for an average but he has been crashing through the floorboards.
