Parks in NYC can be suffocated by chaos, from blocking SUVs to unruly off-leash dogs, turning tranquil strolls into battles. The Parks Enforcement Patrol (PEP) is the city's unsung hero, advocating for harmony without force... yet without enough funding.

How to give NYC More PEP
New York City's parks can shine brighter with the support of more Parks Enforcement Patrol officers. These dedicated individuals foster safety and community, easing tensions while preserving public spaces. Investing in PEP creates jobs and enhances the park experience for everyone, promoting harmony.

Get ready to hit the road this Friday, as weather predictions show a slim chance of rain! Join us at Peck Park for the last Music Bike Ride of the Summer season, where light traffic promises a fun adventure. Bring your friends and enjoy a leisurely ride into the later then average sunset.

Finish the Summer With a Banging Music Ride
We've been watching the weather reports, and it finally looks like Friday will be good riding and not too wet. With only a low chance of precipitation (0.01 inches according to NOAA) we're going to take the (very small) risk of rain and plan for the ride. As the last Music Bike Ride this year with the light "summer traffic" it should be a good one.

Six riders. Six bikes. Two tents. That's the math holding up in upstate NY campsites, even when each cyclist shows up with zero cars. 718 Outdoors, the Brooklyn outfit that's been pioneering bikepacking routes since 2008, has uncovered an outdated rule stopping pedal-powered adventures.

A Tale of Two Tents – How 718 Cyclery Needs Your Help for The Future of Bike Camping
A campsite policy restricts six cyclists to only two tents, prompting frustration for 718 Outdoors, which advocates for sustainable bike camping. Despite cyclists causing less environmental impact than traditional vehicles, outdated regulations hinder low-impact travel. The organization calls for updated policies to better align with modern recreational practices, encouraging public support for necessary changes.

Flushing Meadows Corona Park, New York City's fifth largest park, faces systematic defunding aimed at selling it to wealthy developers.
