It’s very meandering in a perfectly pleasant way, like listening to a friend recount a story. I rarely laugh at books, the only book to make me laugh out loud with frequency was Confederacy of Dunces, but the humor in this is ACTUALLY good. Very, “oh no, she’s just like me for real….”

Read. Richly perceptive, a character study of a young girl entering academia and the world of heartache, THIS is the novel I WANT to write. Playful in its multilingualism, I deeply related to the main character in all her youthful naivety, even if I’m old enough to know better.

Oh, have you not had one before? It’s going to be okay! They’re absolutely painless, but yes the magnets in the machine are pretty loud and make a constant BRRR BRRR BRRR noise. You can ask for ear plugs if you think that will bother you. I’ve had to have a lot on my jaw.
