Rob Sharp @qnm.bsky.social · 31/10/2024I often hear that Australians don’t “do” trick-or treat at Halloween, or that it’s “an American thing” but in my childhood back in Scotland on the 31st Oct we always went “guising” - dressing up and knocking on doors, maybe reciting a poyum, for sweets. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trick-o...en.m.wikipedia.orgTrick-or-treating - Wikipedia 020

Rob Sharp @qnm.bsky.social · 30/07/2024I’d love to see an offical release of Justice at Coachella 2024 à la Alive 2007 - it’s such a great set! 120
Rob Sharp @qnm.bsky.social · 24/07/2024My Australian myGov account was closed due to too many failed logins. I created a new one, and I’ve found that after enabling passkeys you can disable password login. Good to see govt taking security seriously. 140

Rob Sharp @qnm.bsky.social · 29/05/2024That’s one thing I do see on nostr - a real drive to expand the underlying protocol beyond micropost social media. Haven’t seen that here yet - or maybe I’m following the wrong folks. 030

Did you know that the character of Spock & the Vulcan “live long and prosper” 🖖🏽 is actually drawn from the Torah & informed by Nimoy’s Jewish heritage? Rob Sharp @qnm.bsky.social · 30/04/2023I *think* it’s when an account is very similar to a well-known twitter account and the Bluesky team can’t verify. It’s a manual process, from what I can tell. 100

Rob Sharp @qnm.bsky.social · 29/04/2023I watched The Thing with my kid last night. It’s fun seeing his reaction to movies filmed 40 years ago - he’s so used to crisp 4K and realistic CGI. He described the movies monsters as cursed - he’s not wrong! They have retained their ick. A classic movie in my book. 030

Rob Sharp @qnm.bsky.social · 26/04/2023More like it uses HTTP as a way to move the data (xrpc) around. This means you can build an implementation of AT using Express or other web server and not have to build something lower level first. 010
