We passed a mist covered graveyard this morning. It was pretty, like a painting, so I used a Krita filter to crop and adjust it a bit (the original photo was taken last minute from the passenger seat as we drove by). It's time for spooky season ❤️

Tried a new-to-me drink the other night. I always like a frozen margarita on a hot summer evening, sometimes with a bit of fruit flavor, usually watermelon. This is a swirl of sangria. It sounded odd, but why not? It was good! Sweet fruit with citrus tang, hint of wine, almost like pink grapefruit😋❤️

Garden update: we aren't getting a big haul this first year with the new garden, but anything growing is a happy occurrence. Today, I see we have beans coming in! We might get one whole meal from it! 😆 But it's still exciting 😊❤️ These are red and green yard long beans.

My main SciFi series has been out for a while now and I still offer up free ebooks etc. here and there, but I haven't pushed it recently and haven't had many sales. This is how yesterday's storm blew into our neighborhood in Howard county. It was dramatic, but nothing like Baltimore. My IG feed was full of videos from downtown, including a bunch from BTS fans on the way to the concert when the tornado alarms went off!! The show was not cancelled. 😊❤️

A month ago I shared a photo of my brown neocaridina shrimp with eggs. Then, later, a pic of her itty bitty hatchlings. The babies are growing! I just fed them here and they are gathered around a couple of full size neocaridinas, including a red and white one with eggs. I love watching them 😊❤️

Is your faith strong? If you believe in something greater than yourself, is it sacred? Do you believe that your god is powerful? Powerful enough to stand on its own? Can your god survive disagreement and folk asking hard questions? Can your god withstand somebody else’s faith?

Or is your god fragile? Does your god suffer from low self-esteem and restless leg syndrome? Is your god petty? Is your god thin-skinned, easily threatened, and have bad emotional regulation skills? Does your god constantly need an ego stroke? Does your god need a PR or campaign manager?

Does your god diss other people’s gods? Does your god rule like a jealous dictator who is scared of losing followers? Is your god sittin’ around worried about other people’s prayers? Does your god need judges, the police, and prisons to shut down other folks’ temples and houses of worship? Does your god need a state legislature or governor to defend its reputation and to decide which prayers are legal?

Saints, we have been told that the Christian god is omnipotent. We’ve been told that the Christian god is all-powerful. We’ve been told that the Christian god is a ‘he’ that created the heavens and the earth. Parted the seas. Healed the sick and raised the dead. This is an almighty god who has the whole world in his hands. We’ve been told that there is no greater god.

But Saints, if this is true, then tell me why a Christian nationalist Republican who is running for governor of Tennessee is out here tryin’ to defend god?

Our neighbor, who is a very experienced gardener, brought us a huge bag of tomatoes, peppers, etc. this morning. Our garden is brand new. I sent him back one of the three(!) sweet peppers we grew 😆. We might get beans to share later. Lunch was fresh tomatoes and cheese on sourdough. Mmm!!

Gifts from the neighbor. Most of the bag was ripe, but these need a little more time. They said the heat made a lot of their tomatoes ripen fast and they are overwhelmed!
