If you're going to be at #PRGE, there will be (reprints of) two early design docs for Hero's Quest on display in the #RVRG museum. Can't make the show? The docs are lovingly reproduced in Questing for Glory!

Why put in the time to practice your craft when a machine can do it? I've knocked out over 100,000 words over the past month, they're chockablock with em dashes, but not a soul will question whether they're AI-generated. Why? Because all of it is way more fun to read than bland AI crap.

cannot stress enough how the elder scrolls games didnt hit for me that hard because so much of what people dug about them was already in this usage-based skills improvement, day night cycle, alternate storylines, to play this game when it came out felt like staring into the future

If you’re on GOG, I cannot recommend the Quest for Glory series enough. They took the classic point and click adventure format and added deep RPG play. They provide perfect examples of multi-solution gameplay puzzles allowing for different approaches based on specific character build abilities.

Updates are small things: I wrote the back-of-cover blurb, we worked with Activision to finalize the legal language, we're handing off to a proofreader in a couple of weeks, and we're looking at a couple of months to go to a printer. >>

We are technically ahead of schedule for publishing. I don't know what this means for a possible release date but it has to be a good thing, right? In other news I have a new layout to proof, this time to make sure all feedback was caught. Incredibly exciting stuff!

In reviewing, I realized I use a lot of em dashes (I always have in my writing) and at this stage in the game it's too late to rewrite so I use fewer. Before anyone calls me out on AI use, let me just say I hate AI with the fire of 1000 suns and like 95% of this was written before AI was available
